In talking to freepers, I found out that the vet can give you pills to make the poo less tasty....recently found out that Tractor Supply Store also carry those pills...it seems that a dog will eat anything available, me too if hungry, whats in the frig. is what I’ll eat...(NO POO THOUGH) :o)
Go for it big boy!
Dang, somehow I must have stumbled into DU or huffnpuff.
What the hell have vinegar got to do with chicken bone splintering?????
Have a great day feedn yo pup chicken bones n vinegar!
just Damn! I was $35 at the Humane Society kill shelter!
Actually, feeding raw does not give them a taste for any animal unless the person feeding raw is feeding alive “raw”. We feed our heelers raw (along with our three yorkies). The onyl one who chases chickens is the young heeler but he’s learning to not do that. The older one knows it is wrong to chase chickens and the cows. Yorkies teeth are major clean since feeding raw. There is people on the yahoo raw fed group who have big dogs fed raw who have farm animals and non of them have problems with the dogs wanting the live animals. It is the same principal that vegans/vegetarians throw out that people eating meat are more violent. Our smallest yorkie (at 4 lbs) gets a meal about the size of a golfball - per day. She stays full on that. I was amazed. 2-3% of adult body weight is all they need. Over feed and they bury it for later.
Everybody loves a fireman. Cool looking dog.... he/she looks like a thinker.
“Go for it big boy!”
Always have, always will.
Perhaps your next study could be into another important question.... “why to dogs lick their nuts?”
I’ve always figured it’s “because they can”, but your team of vets might provide a more definitive answer.
Heck, if you approach this right, you might be able to do this under a federal grant.
Just think about the great working conditions—making a few calls to your vets and then spending the rest of your day laying around on the porch.... studying the dog.
Thanks for being such a good sport. ;>)
Have a nice day.....
I had one dog that ate his own poo when he was young. The vet gave me a pill to give him that made his poo taste bad (imagine how it tasted good before) and he quickly stopped eating it and never did again.
That's a worrisome comment.
We tried that pill when our GSD was a pup.. it didn’t work with him.
We then changed his diet to raw and quit letting him be alone with his poop, and we didn’t let him see us clean it up.
It was a pain, but he quit this gross activity within a few weeks and he hasn’t done it since. Now he goes out of his way to do his duties in the “tall grass”. ;>)
Where do you get Excalibur?
