Getting ready for the end times, eh?
Some of us see this as a way of imposing the one world government on us.
What better way of doing that than having to unite humanity against a common threat. The only way someone is going to get so many of these nations (think islam) to put aside their differences and unite is something that would appear to be threatening the whole planet.
I know it sounds crackpot to unbelievers but when God takes His church out of the world before the end times, there's got to be some explanation offered for the disappearance of millions and this would be the perfect one.

The current directorship running the global economy into absolute bankruptcy will manufacture a global problem, like sudden global warming or sudden crop failures world-wide, or a plague that seems out of control, or the end of fossil suel being able to sustain the world's out-of-control population. THEN the advent of ETs will be sold as the measn to bring this terrible catastrophe to an end. All you'll have to do is submit for the census, accept the global government's mark of authenticity and you can have security for your family to receive government's aide as made possible by the advent of these benevolent ETs who showed up just in the nick of time. ETs will be sold as saviors, not a menace but not pushovers either. They must be obeyed for humankind 'to receive the help we so desperately need'.
Islam put aside their differences?because of what,the threat of death? Not likely.
If a nuclear war breaks out in the ME between monotheistic islam and monotheistic Israel (supported by monotheistic christians) then the world will see monotheism as the threat.
Islam is being used as a vehicle to justify the worldly dread of that "savour of death unto death"
