Shake off that sclerotic thinking. It's past time for lucidity.
So, the Contract was a response to a Republican President breaking his promise not to raise taxes. The Pledge is a response to a Republican President and Republican Congress abandoning their principles and increasing the size and scope of the welfare State.
Republican elected officials lie. Democrat elected officials lie. This is why we need the Tea Party, not as a third party, but as a movement to hold politicians accountable.
Our problem is that the people have not been active and forceful enough to keep the lucky representatives in check.
I say we raise their pay to 10-20 million a year, adjust for inflation, and hold them for capital punishment if they violate the people's trust.
I’ll quote ‘Braveheart’ ..we need the Nobles (Establishment)..
but I’d also remind you that if (And when they establishment betrays us) as it did William Wallace in that film (then there will be a price to pay as William Wallace did to many of them FOR their betrayal) as well..
GO BACK AND WATCH “BRAVEHEART” AND YOU WILL REALIZE HOW CLOSELY THIS FILM REPRESENTS WHAT THE TEA PARTY IS DOING TODAY!!
WW (and Crew)= Tea Parties,
Scotish Nobles=Republican Establishment
The King & Allies=Democratic Socialists
If there were term limits, you’d have all the Jim Demints you could desire. Mostly sleazy careerists seek office now. As Wm. F. Buckley used to say, “I’d rather be governed by the first 500 peoplein the Boston phonebook, than Congress.”
Throw them all out on a regular basis. Then you get George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Andy Jackson, Calvin Coolidge, and Ronald Reagan.
We haven’t won anything yet.
John "I-served-in-VietNaHm-but-my-only-real-accomplishment-is-marrying-rich-woman" Kerry McCain.
It still fits! McCain had to dump a disabled, doting and devoted wife first to marry the beer baroness, but it's the same story, right?
Many battles lie ahead until this war is won.
