Poll shows voters split on global warming measure
Associated Press - September 24, 2010 8:24 PM ET
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A new poll shows Californians are divided over an initiative to suspend the state's landmark global warming law, although most consider global warming an important issue.
A Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California poll released Friday shows 40% of likely voters favor Proposition 23, compared to 38% who oppose it. That's within the poll's sampling error margin of 3.3%age points.
The measure on the November ballot would delay climate regulations until California's unemployment rate, now at 12.4%, falls to 5.5% and stays there for a year.
One in five likely voters said they have not yet taken a position on the initiative.
The poll surveyed 1,511 registered voters by telephone from Sept. 15 to Sept. 22.

Maybe some judge can strike it down for being just plain stupid.
The Global Warming hysteria has been debunked as a hoax. It’s disturbing that so many people cling to the P.C. storyline.
Keep in mind that the “stupid global warming law” is ALREADY passed.
Prop 23 is to suspend that law. It should have much more than 44% support.
My prediction is Prop 23 will pass 55% to 45%. If one in five are undecided, most of them will break for passing it. Slowly Californians are realizing that jobs are more important than stupid job destroying global climate legislation.
