Yes, the left has a very selective interpretation of the principle of separation of church and state.

One of my older brothers attends a huge mega church here in the NW ‘burbs of Chicago.

They regularly have dems speak there. Clinton has spoken several times, they were given their land by the governor, they are tax exempt, they get half a dozen police cars every weekend to attend to traffic.

It is a full lib church, supposedly Christian, who are pro-abortion, fully pro dem, all I have met are very anti-Catholic, anti-Lutheran, anti-Baptist to the tenth degree. Most are anti-war activists, they claim to be anti-capitalism, but most live in very very upscale homes and drive only the finest of imported cars.

They are an interesting bunch to watch, almost comical, if it weren’t for the fact that they truly are the wealthy Birkenstock crowd who wield a good amount of cash, which can be used to cause damage.

We had a blow-out one Christmas, where my brother and his wife argued that we were basically HATERS because Jesus accepts everyone, gays, those who believe in abortion, etc, and that we were racist rednecks who didn’t understand the message of Jesus at all. Turns out that their pulpit won’t even use the word “sin” because Jesus doesn’t believe in sin, and sin turns people away (according to their beliefs).

So, basically... according to their doctrine... you can do anything you want, and Jesus will love you. Well, anything except be a conservative or believe in an older church, in which case, you are not fit to be considered human.

Needless to say, that Christmas did not end on a very jolly note, and a few relatives were tossed out of our house by my wife. I think we have spoken only a few times since that occurrence. My wife will not tolerate them in the least. She considers churches like that a cult of the democratic, so called progressive party, and she considers them very evil, and evil is not a word she tosses around loosely. She is truly convinced that this mega church is the hand of Satan.

I could ramble on and on about the debates my other brother and I have had about the older brother and his spouses involvement in this Mega Church, but the point is, if it is an arm of the democratic party, then they think preaching from the pulpit is OK. If your church is conservative, then investigations must be in order.
