After the tape of the 911 call came out, I figured that the police had a serious problem. Now we know the police cheif was contacted by this civil rights organization and simply dismissed them out of hand.

Yeah, you’d think Nifong, I mean Wray, would back off given the evidence he’s been presented with...

Good luck to ‘em. IF they can pull this off in the Peoples Republik of Madistahn, then maybe there’s hope for us in Illinois...

“Wisconsin Carry, Inc. has tried to solve this diplomatically, but Madison Police Chief Noble Wray has simply declared all-out war by charging all 5 men with disorderly conduct, despite the Wisconsin Attorney General stating that open carry is not disorderly conduct and should not be prosecuted!”

Section 1983 action for official oppression - pretty open-and-shut, seems to me...

I have but one minor problem with promoting "events" like this: It invites a total loon to commit a public act of suicide-by-open-carry, getting himself killed as a public act by which to create a political environment in which the State can continue violating the right of open carry in self-defense.

I can't put such a thing past the leftist nuts in this country.

Frankly, to me these demonstrations are somewhat odd in character, which could well be used to be off-putting to those whom we seek to convince. To me it makes more political sense to organize and promote more folks being seen carrying without any apparent political purpose: thousands of acts walking down a road alone, working behind the counter of a convenience store at night, walking a pedestrian through a dark parking lot... Make it seem "normal" by acting as if it is. Such acts seem to me to do more to convince the public of the necessity and safety provided by an armed citizenry than demonstrations such as these.

Not long ago, we were getting daily visits by a pack of coyotes in ones and twos. Before I went to go to the lower part of the property to go weeding, I strapped on my .357, in part to protect my dog. I worked up the property line to the county road and was walking home, that big black bulge clinging to my left hip for a cross-draw. This is rural/suburban California not far from Santa Cruz, perhaps the most rabidly communist County jurisdiction to be found in the State. Needless to say, I got bug-eyed stares from the neighbors, but I think it was that I had forgotten I had it on that was most effective, just walking with my weed bag, my dog (about 30-50 feet away off leash on our land), and my gun. I've been asked about it, so it gives me a chance for a real "teaching moment." The explanation has yet to fail to make sense to the neighbors, particularly as regards protecting the dog.

This ‘chief’ needs to be sued in Federal court, stripped of his immunity, and bankrupted.

Someone called the police to inquire as to whether or not what they were doing (simply openly carrying pistols) is legal. Instead of informing the caller that it is, and asking the caller if anything else seems out of place, Madison PD sent 8 officers there to harass, intimidate, and violate many rights of the citizens.

The following from one of your earlier posts on this topic.

The caller, Ms. Phyllis Micke, emphasized to the 911 dispatcher that the guns were in holsters, and that “there’s no problem” . . . [the men are] “just sitting there extremely relaxed.” After the dispatcher explained that open carry was legal unless they are threatening or disturbing people, Micke declared that “there’s no problem and it’s no emergency . . .I feel bad then, if they’re not doing anything wrong then it’s my mistake.”

Just pointing out one portion of the story that "icarry" somewhat mis-represented. Otherwise, I pretty much agree with everything they said. All charges should be promptly dismissed.
