Yep, I was a lurker for many years before I posted anything here and you are very correct. I am now hesitant to mention FR when asked by those I deem the enemy about where my interests lie. They already hate the impact of this forum, so I avoid mention of that concerning my choice of news sources.

This is an excellent article.

They cant attack this, because they cant personalize it and freeze it.

They are in an open field, and we are in the trees, shooting from all sides. Sort of like the ancient Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. Only mostly without bloodshed.

"however, give credit were credit is due, there have been American patriots in the trenches fighting this battle long before Santelli made it official with his comments."

Most definitely!

The cannon had already been loaded with "wad, powder and ball" Samtelli's Comments were just the spark that fired off the "shot heard around the cyberworld ..."

Freepers were active when it was American principles that were being violated. Now that it’s everybody’s wallet that’s being violated, suddenly it’s gotten popular

That it is popular is good, it needs to be, and to remain free of being hijacked by partisan hacks and other power-seekers who will destroy it.

At the same time, that which is trendy and popular can fade as fast, and the minute fewer oxen are getting gored, participation may wane below critical mass if people don't keep their eyes on the prize of reclaiming our Republic, something we have been losing, one nibble at a time, for over 150 years.

There have been some good changes in there, but far too many which were wrapped in benevolent clothing which only laid the foundations for the Socialist mess we have today.

Or is it conceivable that the distributed network embodied by the Tea Parties could become a political system in and of itself? This is a tantalizing possibility. In ancient Athens, the citizenry met as a whole to decide critical questions. Could such a system return in our day, with the net and Twitter and Facebook replacing the Athenian agora? How would this function in relation to established constitutional principles? How, under such circumstances, do we preserve the safeguards of representative government?

Two great videos on this post - click here for the first one. Next WATCH THIS ONE ... it is short and on target

The omission of his primary competitor is probably why Obama omitted “Creator” from his speech.

If you are right, then Obama has supplied direct evidence that, at his core, his value system is satanic.

[Art.] Could such a system return in our day, with the net and Twitter and Facebook replacing the Athenian agora? How would this function in relation to established constitutional principles?

I've thought for years -- 30-plus years -- that technology now allows us to create a truly mass polity on Athenian lines that would transcend the old Platonic and Aristotelian limits imposed by the Pnyx and the Areopagos, to how big a demos could be.

But the counter is a good one: Just because you can do something is not in itself a reason to do it. The Framers had other considerations in mind when they created a representative government.

Time now to assay the results: Have representatives and electors been faithful? Or has Big Money found a way to corrupt representatives and make them, always and inevitably, Money's bought tools?

Have ideological, Gramscian Communist "long marchers" found a way to pollute and defeat the public discourse?
