SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman on Thursday came out against a ballot initiative that would indefinitely delay California's landmark global warming law, saying she supports a more limited suspension.
Whitman has long advocated suspending the 2006 law for a year if she is elected governor, but she has deflected questions about her stance on Proposition 23. Her rival Jerry Brown, the Democratic state attorney general, earlier this week challenged her to take a position.
In a statement, the former chief executive of eBay said the ballot initiative fails to offer a sensible balance for protecting jobs and the environment.
"It is too simple of a solution for a complex problem," Whitman said. "I believe that my plan to fix AB32 strikes the right balance for California."

"Fixing" it just reinforces the Global Warming Hoax, while making the boys on Sand Hill Rd rich.

They’re everywhere! :-(
I don’t live in California, but I know former gov brown is waaay out there. But for the life of me, I don’t understand why she says what she says sometimes. There is this, and the billboard in spanish that she opposed the Arizona law, wasn’t there?
(The lack of capital letters was intentional, by the way)
I was going to post this as a vanity. Is there really a good reason to vote for Whitman? I’d just as soon see Brown drive the car off the cliff and the dims take all the blame. I’m seriously thinking of voting for Brown.
Isn’t this just great. Two complete moonbats. Why would anyone want to vote? Both are completely unacceptable.
ANYONE that goes along with global warming/climate disruption is either lazy and unwilling to read or they are intentionally helping the cause of these global governance progressives.
If I lived in CA, I would actively campaign for Jerry Flower Power to help them get everything they deserve.
NO MOE RINOs!
All of this BS going along to get along has to stop.

Maybe no one in CA should vote for Gov.
Well, hey — the sky is blue, there are Kangaroos in Australia, and Obamacare is bad. Did that answer your question?
I'm still looking for one. The "our idiot is better than their idiot" never did do it for me.
No. And there is no legitimate reason to vote for Brown either. All I can figure is to vote for the only pro-life candidate in the race, Chelene Nightingale. She's kinda whacky... borderline 9/11 Ron Paul truther. But she IS pro-life. And she won't win anyway.
I do live in California about 20 miles from san Francisco on the Peninsula. It is so libeal in my city it is pathetic
they are forever putting parcel tax propostions for the schools and they always pass as a matter of fact just received by tax bill yesterday and there about $750.00 worth on it just from school parcel taxes it is awful. As far as Brown is concerned yes he is a loon and I think Whitman is less loony but not realy conservatice as I can tell. I think too if she gets elected she will become like Arnold was an extension of the left just slightly right.
Global Warming on Free Republic
I agree with you. Benjamin Whitman is the same as Jerry on seemingly 90% of issues and the others don’t matter at that point. Won’t sign AZ 1070 style law, is a green freak and then believes she can do the things Arnold couldn’t get done while being popular which she is not. Plus I question the sanity of paying what will be $150 million to be in charge of a freaking romper room state....$150 million and I would be crowning myself king of a sweet tropical island I purchased somewhere.
And forgot that the biatch RUINED ebay. Probably a precursor to what else she would do for CA......Skype....just another boondoggle IT purchase. Wait til she gets her hands on real money.
At least the pubbies would fight Brown.... I'm afraid they'd follow progressive whitman right off the cliff, just because she's got an "R" behind her name.
the demonrats never take the blame - it is always someone else’s fault. Sure, vote for Brown - and screw everyone else up even worse - then we can blame YOU.
