On the Record host Greta Van Susteren just posted to GretaWire, saying that she canceled an interview with veteran journalist Bob Woodward, who was scheduled to speak about his new book, Obamas Wars.
Why?
I just cancelled a Bob Woodward new book interview because the publisher wont get me a copy to READ BEFORE I do the interview. ON THE RECORD at ten is not the Home Shopping Channel I actually read the books before I do the interview out of respect for the viewers Her decision is understandable, with many television hosts wanting to be informed about a book before interviewing the author.
While the book has been a regular subject on the cable news channels over the last few days, those discussions have focused on excerpts that appeared in the New York Times and USA Today, rather than from the book itself. In other words, as of this morning, it does not appear that any of the cable news channels have a review copy of the book.
That would not be unusual for Woodward, who often does not reveal that he has even been working on a book until just a few weeks before it is slated to be published. But why stiff Van Susteren and the other cable channels?
That may have something to do with the fact that Woodward has given ABC News the first TV interview about Obamas Wars. Woodward will sit down with Diane Sawyer September 27, the same day his book is released.
Congrats to Greta for refusing to play the publishers game (interviewing a guest via a list of prepared questions supplied by the publisher).
Lol
Gotta love Greta.
She’s my favorite on Fox.
Does anyone read Woodward’s books, except for the Beltway press?
Woodward goofed, in fear of the tough questions Greta might have come up with had she read the book.
I don’t find her interviews to be particularly hard-hitting, so we’ll eventually get the same interview later.
Go back to DU troll.
Is Greta Van Susteren a scientologist? Fox News host Greta VanSusteren and her husband, John P. Coale, are members of Scientology.

Sheesh, Scientologists really got their theology out of a Cracker Jack box! I have heard more sensible narratives and explanations from a two year old, and they were fibbing!
“You mean Fox News or Greta didnt have the money to shell out for the book?”
A little hard to do when it’s not due out till later this month.
Greta was better as a reporter during the OJ trial, when her blabathon tendencies were held entirely in check, because she wasn’t in charge. As a reporter, you saw the best of Greta - her brain, and didn’t have to endure her tendency to filibuster in one octave...shrill, or interrupt, often succeeding in upstaging her guests. Having said that, Greta is obviously still smart on some topics, rounds up great guests, and works her dogs off, willing to travel and sweat for a good program, but her history is entirely liberal, until liberal went communist/marxist, so for the time being she appears to have mellowed.
Mellowed? Perhaps. I think it’s more likely just deluded.
I disagree...
I mean...Bob Woodward’s new book exposes the shocking revelation that Obama feels that we, the United States “can absorb another terrorist attack.”
Seriously? Americans would want to know that.
This explains why he let the “underwear bomber” lawyer-up in the criminal justice system rather than having our intelligence agencies hold him and interrogate him. It also reveals his underlying strategy of withdrawing from our current battle with terrorism, and why his A.G. won’t even use the term “War on Terror.”
Well, I say the the USA has already absorbed a terrorist attack, within the White House, on Wall Street and Main Street, and to the Democrat party. That terrorist is Barack Hussein Obama.
Americans need to know that.
And Greta’s show is a good place for starting that discussion, IMHO.
She can cover the scheduled execution tonight of that woman in Virgina...who paid to have her husband and son killed for insurance $$$.
That never stopped Larry King.
FYI..there was a story today, I think on Politico, on how the NY Times had beaten out the WashPost again...strange, siunce Woodward works for the Post. The Times reporter stated that they had obtained a copy of the book in advance of the release date, and assigned 5 reporters to read it..each one doing 100 pages or so, for the story..
Why not. That is the way the government treats the citizens about Obamacare. In fact that is just the way Democrat Congresscritters treat Republicans. Remember Pelosi? "We have to pass the Bill to find out what's in it"?
She actually reads before interviews? Greta for Congress.
Greta is the most professional journalist on TV.
