Ovide Lamontagne to raise funds for rival
Politico ^ | September 22, 2010 | Shira Toeplitz

Attorney Ovide Lamontagne, who came within 1,667 votes of defeating former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte in the GOP primary for Senate, is headlining a fundraiser for the new nominee next week. Ayotte will face Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes in November.

Ayotte, who was recruited by national Republicans to get into the race, won with 38 percent of the vote over a crowded field on Sept. 14. The next day, Lamontagne conceded the race and endorsed Ayotte – providing a swift end to the battle, unlike the Senate primaries in Delaware and Alaska, where the establishment Republican candidates declined to endorse the candidates who toppled them.

Emphasis mine. The Tea Party not only has the right message, but also knows how to concede with class. This is where the GOP should be looking for an example of party unity. What the hell is wrong with Murkowski and Castle (and Rove for that matter) that they can't be as magnanimous as Lamontagne?

Ovide Lamontagne—this is a conservative for you.

Great guy. I hope he makes a run for office again.

Ovide BUMP.

Attention, Lisa Meowski: Observe how a class act operates. May you and your slimy RINO ego go down to a crushing and humiliating defeat, never to be heard from again.

Put him on the back burner for 2014 when Sheheen is up next. He should take a page from Ronaldo Maximus and the Grizzly Mama to stay in the political limelight so he can join the person he endorsed in a true classy manner.

Sadly, we've become the SoreLoserman party, it seems.
Lamontagne is like a breath of fresh air.

doing the right thing sets him up for a run at the other seat in two years. I’ll send him some money when he runs again.

Good for Lamontagne for being a TEAM player.

Further proof that in the GOP you can’t spell TEAM, without TEA.

That means Republicans in NH had 2 great candidates. I'm sure Lamontagne will have a great future in politics, we all need politicians of principles and class.

Here, here. This is what we Tea Party, conservatives and in some cases, republicans do.

If I ever ran for office and lost in a primary, my concession speach would be at the victory party of my rival.

As usual, God-fearing conservatives take the high road.....unlike “moderate” Republicans like Crist, Specter, Murkowsky, Castle....

Ovide will be 58 in 2014, so time will tell. I was impressed by the quality and the number of people running for office on the Republican Line, including at least one FReeper I know of.

If we do well this year and in 2012 I think that Queen Jean is toast, Ovide just might be the man. The thing that you have to remember is New Hampshireites can be a difficult bunch.

I despise moderates.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Concede with class? Somebody should send this article one state south and deliver it to “Low Blow” “No Show” Joe Malone!

I think the difference boils down to a matter of upbringing, pure and simple.

Joe took one to many shots to the head when he was a kid, he would still be State Treasurer if he had any brains. He got beat by a half Polish Joke.

Perry is a fairly solid candidate. I tend to like men/women who worked for what they have, served in the miitary and have a good sense of their own limitations. Perry had a very good reputation as a legislator and is extremely popular in the area of the lower Cape that he represents.
