U.S. companies would be much more competitive if all of them quit providing health insurance to employees. Governments and employers should get out of the business of providing health insurance or health care.

If we can get rid of health insurance (except for HSA's) and phase out (over three to five years) Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP programs, consumers will become more cost-conscious and efficient in their demand for health services.

Walmart has been a leader in holding the line against employee demands for health insurance.

I agree 100%.

The addition of health insurance as an employee benefit was done during WW2 as a way to circumvent wage controls.

Anything that divorces the patient from costs is guaranteed to drive up prices.

You are absolutely right.

One of the stupidest things we do in America is tie HC to employment.

HC should be a free market commodity just like any other service.
