Part of Gov. Chris Christies belt-tightening plan for New Jersey was the termination of $7.5 million in public funding for Planned Parenthood clinics in the state, a decision Democrats in the legislature countermanded with a bill that cleared the Senate with a 30-10 vote sufficient to override a veto. But when that veto came and the Democrats scheduled an override vote, Republicans in the legislature backed down, and the measure failed 23-17.

Thank you God!
Wish he would come to Oregon to run this state...
NJ has waited for decades to have a good gov. and now everybody wants the guy to run for PRes or VP.
NO! Let the good folks of NJ enjoy him for a few years first.
Go sit in the waiting room of your local Planned Parenthood and I think you would be surprised. They provide many health services for women in the poorer and not so poor sections of town. While I agree taxpayers should not have to pick up the tab, the services are very much needed for society as a whole.
We have to have realistic abortion prevention in this country. Moral platitudes and religious dogma that subjugate women of different cultures and religions to unrealistic lifestyle decisions are useless.
I’m for treating murderers as murderers.
A-freaking-men. I’m going to write an article on Chris Christie now. :)
So you’re ok with killing girls, yet against ‘subjugation’ of women?
You do know that the perform sex selection abortions specifically to target little girls?
Can you say President Christie
Odd. Not being able to kill an innocent baby is “subjugation”?
Sicko.
[ A great way to help balance the NJ budget......... ]
And I think of a lot more programs that can be cut too....
Why couldn't we have learned this during the '60s radicalism rampant on campuses and in our communities? It would have saved this country from the ensuing debauchery we've seen.
I'm ecstatic that someone had the gonads to tell it like it is and slam the leftists. When conservatives take a staunch stand, they do more than just cause a single obstruction to leftist nihilists; they cause other not-so-committed, timid "conservatives" to dare to take a stand with them. It's contagious, thank God!
He’s been one heck of a leader with his ability to stand up to leftist and media criticism. I appreciate how he’s been able to thrive as a fiscal conservative in a liberal state. He’s one of the few who is capable of governing with and then communicating and forwarding a strong conservative message.
WTG Christie! We could sure use him over here in California.
Hey, he has to stop in Michigan first....
Yes, Christie is truly amazing. Perhaps he could put on a seminar for other so-called conservatives?
You obviously completely missed the point and you are wrong.
You are the reason liberals think they are superior to Conservatives. That is so completely stupid it is scary.
Ongoing and in full teaching mode........
Let's hope the GOP takes this seminar to heart.
