What the GOP "Pledge to America" Should Have Been

[We] have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for [we] mean to reduce its size.

[We] do not undertake to promote welfare, for [we] propose to extend freedom.

[Our] aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden.

[We] will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before [we] have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible.

And if [we] should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' "interests," [we] shall reply that [we were] informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause [we are] doing the very best [we] can.

We should no longer employ a parasite known as the private federal no reserve to ever be in America and will now only offer honest money with intrinsic value to Americans who deserve the fruits of their labor.Also,all fiat monies will be banned in America and all parties participating in these types of currencies will be jailed and charged with fraud against the American people.

Like I said in my other post I believe the “Pledge to America” is about bringing up the real issues in front of the voting public. The dimoKKKRATS and their allies in the msm want to do character assassinations such as playing the “race card” and “blame it on Bush”. They want to avoid the real issues at all cost.

Instead of all this "pledge" BS, these idiots should have just issued the document that starts,

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

and then follow the damned thing!!!!

All this pledge and contract BS is just so much eyewash. Does any sentient human being believe ANY of it much less these corrupt bastards that spout it?

What was the point of releasing this thing in the first place. We only have 40 days until the election. the Dems are already on the ropes—on 100% defense. Why give them something to attack? Makes no sense. Watched CNN tonight and that weasel Spitzer spent the whole debate with Ralph Reed going after each promise point by point. He came across like the asshole lech he is, but it allows them to change the narrative. Stupid.

Yes. I had similar thoughts. All focus has been on the commies writhing in scurrying around like cockroaches. It makes no sense to change the focus, especially with such thin gruel.

The pledge is doesn’t go far enough, and it might be too late. About a year ago, I emailed some republican party & congressional leaders, and I said that republican candidates, for the U.S. Senate and House should promise that, if they regain control of both houses of Congress, they’ll promise to pass about five bills, including cutting tax rates to the 1988 rates, repealing all laws that violate the 10th Amendment, and building a brick wall, along the Mexican border. None of those leaders responded.
