Agree that Rove actually walked back maybe about 50%. Last week, he was literally frothing at the mouth. Tonight, he was complimentary, but guarded/cautious. I don’t know, but it’s a bit “convenient”. “Mr Republican”/the “architect” goes absolutely apoplectic over this relatively unknown, Palin-like candidate for senate. Everyone’s scratching their heads, saying where was this outrage for other candidates with warts in their past. All this in an environment in which the singular driving force, the Tea Party, in this election doesn’t like either party’s “establishment”. Result? Unknown candidate raises > $2 Million in a week (comparison: Sharonn Angle, in one of the most consequential races in the country has raised about $3M in 3 months or so). Unknown candidate in Delaware now has a huge warchest (she’ll probably be > $3M by 2 wks after her primary victory) and she is receiving the strongest emotional support from that critically mobilized Tea Party faithful. Also, libs/RINOs/media have piled on, making O’Donnell even more sympathetic in the eyes of the group that’s most important in this election (”moderate” Repub voters aren’t providing election energy for anybody this cycle). She’s got tons of $, and now can blanket the airwaves with ads, hire the cream of the crop in seasoned campaign operatives, blow off the national media (because they’re obviously out to destroy her) so she only needs to do what really is impt, namely retail politics in a very small state; chances are, she’ll be pretty good at this, especially compared to the bland bearded Marxist. Forgetting the polls for a minute, all of a sudden she’s looking pretty good. Someone knew the “formula” for this cycle - Scott Brown’s race was the template. Attractive candidate (physically) but with little “substantive” past and some checkered moments (posed nude for Pete’s sake!) in a very blue state with a bland, functionary lib opponent. Down big early, entire Tea Party faithful are mobilized, he raised big $ quickly, and cleans Marsha’s clock. Sound familiar?
I’m not saying this was at all staged, but sometimes you have to question “coincidences” (and look, everything’s happening on Hannity’s show - Rove meltdown, O’Donnell homerun appearance, Rove beginning the walk back). Hmmmm. (Time to adjust my tinfoil hat!!)

Well, that’s very reasonable and it’s not really conspiracy like at all.

If Brown is the model, it isn’t just Brown, but every tea party candidate. And Brown was a politician, a State Senator, so it’s not that he was a political outsider.

The tea party candidate is a more attractive outsider than unattractive, old, political insider.

People don’t really want to elect “politicians” to the job of “politician”. They actually don’t like “politicians”.

I can find better candidates in sports illustrated billboard and variety than in any roll call.

An attempt at political inoculation? For the Dem and RINO criticisms of O'Donnell after they were as of just yesterday toasting Karl Rove? That would be slick - but I don't know if it would be necessary.
