Color me skeptical.

I WAS hopeful the GOP had learned their lesson after the disaster of the Bush years - until they let Murkowski keep her committe leadership position after pledging to Joe Miller they wouldn't.

"Go along to get along" is ingrained in their DNA. We need new blood!

Color me skeptical.

I'm straight up skeptical.

I'm seeing a pledge to America, but I know that their allegiance will still be to the lobbyists and to the pork and to winning the next election.

They can talk about trying to reign in Democratic spending, but until they reign in their own spending, they are useless.

What I want is the GOP to say from here on out that they will release an item-by-item accounting of the federal budget and whether they will or will not support each item.

I want them on the record about this, and I want them to swear that if they support any pork whatsoever or any "scratch my back I'll scratch your back" legislation, that they will step down in the next election and not run in the primaries, clearing the way for actual Conservatives to take their place.

I don't want a bunch of vague words or catchy slogans or political speak that is meant to appease naive Republicans and Conservatives, the kind who go into a car dealership or an electronics store after one thing and who get themselves conned into buying something they don't need at a much higher price.

I'm sick and tired of voting for liberals with (R) next to their name, and I'm not doing it anymore. Voting for a liberal with an (R) next to their name is still voting for a liberal. For too many years I was a Conservative every day of the year except on election day when I'd vote for RINOs and CINOs and I'm not doing that anymore, because continuing to support RINOs and CINOs enables them to stay in office and keep up their liberal agendas while keeping real Conservatives out of office.

I can guarantee you that every one of these Republican legislators who play up this pledge are still going to be feeding at the trough and pulling the pork for their districts.

I'm really beginning to warm up to some of the Tea Party stuff and saying the Hell with the Republicans because the last time the Republicans held both the White House and Congress, they managed to increase the size, expense, and power of the federal government and then they turned it over to Obama and the Democrats. They had their chance, and they blew it. They made things worse, and they are like the kid who keeps getting in trouble and getting away with it, saying "I'll be good next time" and that's just ridiculous.
