I met Jim Dandy a couple of years ago in Memphis. Black Oak Arkansas was playing at a small bar on Beale Street. He was a really friendly and polite guy. Super nice. Just a good old Southern gentleman. Played “Uncle Elijah” for me by request even though they had already played it earlier before I had arrived at the show.
Southern rockers generally age very gracefully, they may have been wild back in the day, but it seems as they age, they definitely mellow.
