The interesting thing about this MAD cover is that the 'hand' has a sorta-kinda 6 fingers on it, so the middle one isn't really 'middle' as it were ... the 6th finger (pinkie?) isn't really obvious, but it's knuckle sits there on the far right side tucked into the rest of the fist, with no real delineating line as to whether it is a 6th finger or not .....

Such were the little visual games that MAD would play back in it's heyday, and this one was a real whopper! /laughs

You are right. There is IS something there that doesn't belong - ha-ha - an extra finger...or the artist was not good at drawing hands! :)

Just the ‘Mad’(madcap) brand of humor, I think!
