Whenever I’m in Washington, DC I make it a habit of visiting at least one museum or historic site. On my latest trip, I made it to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. I planned to stay about an hour and grab bit somewhere close.
Almost 4-hrs later, I left and was so emotionally drained I couldn’t eat. What an amazing place. Startling billboard sized black & white images greet you at the start of the self-guided tour. Video and audio recordings, thousands of archived pieces; it all just tears you apart.
The part that’s still vividly sticks in my head is the area that illustrates Joseph Mengele’s (SS Dr at Auschwitz) experiments on mentally retarded men, women and children. It moved me to tears. The Nazis photographed everything atrocity in detail and these experiments were no exception. Watching these images of human beings dissected like lab animals is one of the most ghastly things I’ve done.
Bill Maher is an ignorant fool who I’ve grown to dismiss intellectually. If this is a man the left chooses to reward with stars on the “Walk of Fame”, HBO shows, etc, let them. It speaks more their lack of a conscious and values as much as it does his.
I had no idea he said these things. But I am not surprised. He is a little Nazi like his holywood comrades. We have a super stinking elite in power right now.
