Agree totally, his one term was a total disaster. As a young working couple raising a child we were barely getting by while double-digit in-the-teens inflation was eating us alive. Everything Carter said or did resulted in a calamnity for the nation. During the Iranian hostage crisis he hid in the Rose Garden and said nothing, did nothing, to stop the crisis. Why can’t he shut up now!

In addition to his other "accomplishments", Carter was the first President to break a long-standing tradition of not publicly criticizing his successor(s). Republican ex-Presidents have continued to honor the custom, as befits their superior character, but Bill Clinton, naturally, has notably failed to keep his yap shut between speaking engagements and talk show appearances.

I fully expect that once Barack Obama is summarily dispatched from the Rose Garden by the voters and can no longer luxuriate in the style to which he so speedily became accustomed, he will likewise see fit to vent his spleen upon whichever Republican succeeds him.
