Wish you were right...but that is just not true. The majority of the GOP are squishy middle of the road, put their finger into the air types. If I had to put a percentage of actual conservatives (not just during election time) in the GOP, it would be less than 20%. That may seem low to you but I really think that you are going by what they say instead of what they do and how they vote when it counts.

Now when that percentage get to say 40% or more, things will start to change but not before. When that magic number is reached (and it may require a larger percentage), the change will be dramatic!

Nah! The air here is fetid and stagnant. Want to know what to do, put in an ask price to your friends on K-street and see what the market will bear.

Yeah, I have to walk that back a bit. Logic says that if there really were more conservatives in the Republican Party than moderates, then the elections wouldn’t even have been close for Murkowski and Castle. I still don’t think the Tea Party will split first, but I can’t sure of that. The Tea Party has shown that it CAN nominate a conservative over a moderate. The problem with Republican moderates will be to get them to VOTE for that conservative, and not default to the liberal Democrat.

Because the GOP establishment GAVE us those squishy candidates and supported only those candidates. NOW with the grass roots in action, we see how the GOP selected candidate is not the voters choice. The problem wasn't with the voters but w/the GOP establishment. We hear their cries now - w/the conservatives who are winning the primaries. Joe Miller and Christine come to mind. All grass roots efforts - in opposition to what the GOP establishment wants.

To rid our party, the GOP, of the squishy middle that was forced on us and has been for far too long.
