In a wide-ranging interview published Saturday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg characterized the recent increase in Tea-Party rancor as a temporary development in American politics.
"I think there boomlets come along when the public is dissatisfied," he told the New York Times. "There was a Ross Perot boomlet, there was a John McCain boomlet, theres the Tea Party boomlet."
"Anger, however, is not a government strategy," he added. "Its not a way to govern."
Bloomberg's skepticism of the Tea Party movement is consistent with his record of endorsements this election cycle. He has backed centrist Republicans and Democrats who he deems capable of compromise Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in his reelection bid, Republican Mark Kirk of Illinois and Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) for Senat, Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in his reelection bid, and Democrat John Hickenlooper for governor of Colorado.

See you in November, Bloomy.
Bloomy is TOAST.
John McCain boomlet?
What a smug,arrogant, SOB,
There was? Okay...
Boomlet - this will certainly be one HUGE boomlet. We’re just getting warmed up. Wait until 2012 and we have a new batch of Senators to go after.
McCain was a boomlet? Most people that voted for him had to hold their nose, and voted mainly for his running mate.
How about Bush Derangement Syndrome that you forgot, convieniently, to mention? It helped elect The Messiah.....
When (if) the constitutionalists ever get power it is really going to be fun to tell the raging left that “anger is no way to govern”
Right now, I would give odds on the Tea Party lasting longer than the city of New York.
A nuclear armed Iran. Smart. Thank you Barack and Hillary, for your teamwork on that project. It would not have happened without you.
I would like to tell bloomie that for social justice the next 150 million killed need to be the Communist/Marxists/Socialists.
Sorry bloomies, this country was founded on anger against statism, and this country will rejuvenate liberty by same. The party is over for RINO’s and liberty sellouts like you.
He could be right.
There will be a need to turn today’s raw passion into a focused, purposeful long-term strategy.
Heh, another RINO shows his ignorance! I just love the smell of stupidity of the GOP and all associated with them.
Just put him in front of the train and we will see how fast he can run (referring to the video posted earlier - if you missed that, you are missing life)...
Bloomberg’s record this year is to kiss up to the Islamofascists who could take his investments in Dubai and turn them into dustballs in moments.
We know where he stands and why.
Eventually he will be tried for treason.
Centrist Dims like Joe Sleazestak? This dope is a liar and Marxist doctrinaire. Bloomberg also has his fingers in all sort of anti-gun movements. He is a massive lib who is part of the problem. I would also like to know what the hell is he talking about with the “McLame Boomlet”?
Bloomberg can kiss my Tea Party a$$.
which I guess is another way of saying, "consider the source."
Bloombug wishes.
