Election '10: An iconic pundit and strategist takes heat for his election night analysis of a Tea Party victory in Delaware. Can we now focus on those who are really leading America over the cliff?
Karl Rove's political street cred is beyond dispute. He's the guru who, to the dismay of Democrats and liberals still clinging to their hanging chads, guided that cowboy from Texas, George W. Bush, to the White House twice. When he speaks, people listen.
On Fox News last Tuesday, Rove ran off a laundry list of everything that's wrong with Christine O'Donnell, the candidate backed by the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin who won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. The Democrats, he said, would pick her apart on personal "issues" such as how she paid off her college loans.
The reaction from the "angry mobs" that became the Tea Party movement was fast and furious. Many thought Rove's remarks would be a good commercial for O'Donnell's Democratic opponent in November, Chris Coons.
Rove could have better spent the time marveling at the political force that has propelled Joe Miller in Alaska, Sharron Angle in Nevada and now O'Donnell to victory against entrenched political interests. An unelectable Scott Brown, R-Mass., now sits in the "Kennedy seat" in the U.S. Senate and the unelectable Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is poised to join what promises to be a most interesting GOP caucus in that same body.

Just weird to me. I guess he just went crazy with liberal rage that he's been suppressing all this time.
Anyway I just wanted to run it by the FReepers and hear what they thought. Thank you for responding.
Well I am sorry Dr we will just have to agree to disagree about Rove.
I have been a loyal, even fanatical, GOP foot solider for 30 years.
That is all done.
Watching Rove, and the national GOP slime their own nominated candidate every day since Tuesday ended that.
And I am far from the only one who must be feeling this way. When the Roveite NRC loses people like me, they have lost the GOP base.
Rove has lost his effing mind and is drinking way to much Absinthe.
No, Kondracke is a “moderate.”
I fired off an email to Rove after his diatribe Tuesday night (actually got a reply, too).
But, I think Kondracke’s attack this evening torqued me more. KT McFarland (the panel was made up of Mort, KT, & Stephen Hayes) ripped him a new one.
Let me amend my last post.
Rove! Pick a side and make it obvious.
If you don’t have anything edifying to say then shut the hell up.
If you don’t mind, what did Rove say?
And while you are at it. If you put your back into helping O’Donnell half as much as you have been spouting off these last two days, it could go a long way toward helping our team win.
You are a team player, aren’t you?
That’s funny! LOL
I was thinking the same thing and hadn’t gotten around to posting.
Thanks! LOL
Fat azz lard bouy. (I spelled bouy the way I wanted to).
I’m thinking that if Rossi isn’t going for the jugular, then Rossi really doesn’t have the necessary killer instinct to be successful in politics.
O’Donnell got noticed because of the undeserved shenanigans and dirty dealing that the Delaware GOP did against her.
In his reply, Rove lamented how Republicans could not attack Obama & the tax cheats in his administration if they were going to turn around and nominate O’Donnell. It is a matter of “fitness” & “character” according to Karl.
In turn, I asked Karl where Mike Castle graded out on the fitness & character scale as a Republican after voting for Cap & Tax, TARP, Big 1 1/2 Bailout, Cash 4 Clunkers, McCain-Feingold, SCHIP.....Lifetime 52.49 rating from ACU, “F” from NRA......
I just don’t get how irrational this man is. He’s p*ssed because Christine won because “she can’t win the general”, so he goes on every show that will have him complaining about how incompetent she is! It’s just incredible. Go ahead and hand the election to the Democrat, Rove you jerk.
I did not want him to die, I am not filled with rage I do stay up late thinking how I can ruin his life, I do not try to indict him for no reason, I do not write hate filled articles about him and his family. Is that different enough? I sick of elitists I do not hate him personally just watching him.
If O’Donnel loses, and we fail to take back the Senate by one seat, THEN it will be the fault of Rove with the assistance of Big Mouth BOR.
I just listened to Rove on BOR’s noisy show, Rove is still at it.
For years I respected that man, but he has finally lost it all with me. Rove and that arrogant a$$ BOR are working full time to ruin O’Donnel.
Finally, it looks to me that Fox is trying to save Rove..... by gang trashing O’Donnel.
No, we can’t.
He is one of the primary reasons the GOP is in the mess it is in.
This is just cosmic justice.
Don't be so quick to back down, just because I (or anyone else) challenged you. Argue back, from a position of certitude.
it just doesn't make sense for a guy to go through 8 years of Bush, a war, daily demonization, an investigation from DOJ and the threat of every democrat and moonbeam liberal on the planet to eviscerate him to all of a sudden make DELAWARE his Waterloo.
Rove was also a part of No Child Left Behind with Ted Kennedy, Medicare Prescription Drugs as a tactic to blunt a Democrat issue for 2004 with seniors, pushing privatization of social security and then backing down on it, just to name a few others.
Just weird to me. I guess he just went crazy with liberal rage that he's been suppressing all this time.
Probably more of an Establishment Rage, because he sees the era of his influence receding.
