The problems we are facing today are due to all of the “experienced” and “qualified” politicians being elected to office. If the founding fathers felt that the requirements to be a Senator was a long resume and a college degree from one of the ivy league schools then they would have made that a requirement to serve.

These are the only requirements laid out in the Constitution to be a senator.

at least 30 years old.
a U.S. citizen for at least nine years at the time of election to the Senate.
a resident of the state one is elected to represent in the Senate.
These are the only requirements for the office that are specified in Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution.

A lawyer with whom I work (who went to a top-notch law school and at one time was the head of our County Bar Association) came up with an idea for a referendum to reform our county government for checks and balances to put an end to corruption (see the articles above).

He got other people involved, they came up with this new structure for our county government, they got the referendum on the ballot, and the voters approved it.

During the most recent FBI raid over the past week, the County Auditor and his son, a County Commissioner (pictured above), and two County Common Pleas Court Judges were arrested.

The day after this referendum passed, I gave him a heart-filled and well-earned congratulations for all of his work and dedication. He didn't have to do it, but he did it because he cared.

I am sure that our community will be much better off.

EVERYONE CAN CONTRIBUTE!
