No sense in letting Rove take all the abuse today among traitorous Beltway RINOs who’ve allegedly never done a thing for “true conservative.” Let’s get Krauthammer into the game. This is actually a useful follow-up to the last post insofar as it’s yet another opportunity to show how Palin implicitly (and wisely) questions the dogma that right-wing candidates can win anywhere, any time, in any circumstances. Krauthammer dares her to go to Delaware to spearhead the O’Donnell campaign. Doubtless many Sarahcuda fans will say “great idea!” but Palin herself knows better:
Palin’s comments came after the last major primary night before the November midterm elections. Palin-endorsed candidate Christine O’Donnell stole the spotlight by defeating nine-term Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware GOP Senate primary.
But the 2008 vice presidential nominee said that her involvement in races might not always benefit the candidates she endorses.
Ill do whatever I can. I want to help, though, and not hurt,” she told Fox News. “And, you know, sometimes its a double-edged sword there if my name is connected to anybody.”
Translation: Knowing how much Democrats hate Palin, it’d be silly to hand them a club in a state as blue as Delaware by appearing there frequently. If anything, it’d probably do more to alienate pro-Castle fencesitters, who likely blame her for Castle’s defeat, than to fire up Christine supporters who are already fired up. Krauthammer knows that, of course, but he’s making a point here about true belief in “true conservative.” If demographics don’t matter and it’s just a matter of preaching the right-wing gospel to convert the liberal heathens, let’s send our best preachers down there and let it rip. What could go wrong?
“Hes not comfortable with the base of the republican party...”

Nailed the crux of Kraut.
Disdain for, and condescension toward, white, flyover Christian conservatives.
Emphasis on Christian.
A "Delaware Independent" referenced above is one of 146,000 people who actively checked the "I" box on their voter registration card, many of which probably did so at "motor voter" stations registering at the DMV.
Are you one of them?
If not, then you're not relevant to the Delaware Senate race.
If you are an "I" guy in Delaware, then you should be wrapped up, are you not? You've got O'Donnell to vote for, no appearances from Palin needed. No endorsement from the NRSC, Delaware State Republican Committee, Karl Rove, Charles Krauthammer necessary.
Unfortunately for us all, if more than 1/3 of the ambivalent folks who registered "I" in Delaware are East coast leftists who hate conservative women and think Obama is going to give them some stash, then O'Donnell loses.
If Delaware is voting hand-outs they are no longer a viable place.
...In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.
In January 1981, Krauthammer began his journalistic career, joining The New Republic as a writer and editor. His New Republic writings won the 1984 “National Magazine Award for Essays and Criticism.” In 1983, he began writing essays for Time magazine. In 1985, he began a weekly column for the Washington Post for which he won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for commentary...

Thank you! Whereas I said you SOUND like an idiot, you called me an A-hole and removed all doubt.
If Christians can have such strong disdain for one another, I guess other groups could also.
Yeah, but if we win the senate majority and allows conservatives to take the helm of some of the senate committees, then we could cut back on their handouts. Either O'Donnell or Castle would've gotten us the committees, and controlled the Agenda. Not really relevant for 2010-2012 how they vote on individual things.
So basically, you’re saying the Democrats who call themselves “Independents” in Deleware are a bunch of uninformed, vacuous dumb asses, who can be tricked into voting for the conservative, as long as THAT WOMAN doesn’t show up, to trip the single anti-Palin neuron firing in their ignorant cerebrums?
>> Poll: Coons 53%, ODonnell 42%....history on numbers this close to an election means...50%+ = winner of election...thats the facts, folks.<<
With virtually no negative ads on Coons to this point. With no vetting of Coons and little or no attention paid to him before the poll? Common. ODonnell is only down by 11 with all the negative shes had thrown at her. Angle was down by 20 when she started and now shes ahead.
ODonnell has a really good chance of winning this if handled right. Coons is a Marxist sympathizer (by his own admission) who is for bigger government takeovers and bailouts. Something most in this country abhor. She can win this.
It would be nice if Delaware can get their head out of their ass and understand the economic war they face. O’Donnell is a good start.
At best, they will remain demoralized and stay home. At worst, "THAT WOMAN" will show up, trip the single anti-Palin neuron firing in their ignorant cerebrums and run down to pull the "D" lever.
Yeah.
That.
IF there's so many bright conservative republicans in Delaware pouting with their "I" protest, why haven't they gotten it together and taken over the State Republican committee before now?
Let's don't just pick on Delaware. Look at Illinois or Michigan for example. What in the world are those idiots thinking?
Registration Totals in Delaware are:
R - 182,796
D - 292,738
I - 146,212
I personally know people who are still registered as dems that haven’t voted dem in years. Not all Republicans vote Republican, not all dems vote dem. Most independants I personally know usually vote Republican, though “options” are attractive to them.
At this point in time it would seem to me that something is going on on both ends of the spectrum.
Agreed, handouts and gaming the system is widespread. The ones that do it consider themselves “intelligent”. I call them thieves.
I refuse to click on HotAir. Ed Morrisey is another squish.

I’m sure there aren’t, and I never said there were.
That’s why it is a (near) hopelessly Blue state, that in your opinion, has to rely on tiptoeing around the conservative message, and hiding its most dynamic spokesperson.
Well, Charles, being electable means being on the ballot. Castle ain't on it.
By Krauthammer's own logic, all Republicans now ought to be supporting O'Donnell, despite her flaws. His failure to do so is revealing, and it diminishes him significantly. But what diminishes him even more is the way he's doing it. He comes across as a small and vindictive man--an impression that he's going to discover will dog and define him.
The very reason a Republican must stand ground, win or lose. The Democrats are trying to bankrupt our freedom by running as a Republican. The line must stop and Conservatives must demand the principles on which this Nation was founded.
Smells foul to me.
