A new poll shows the 2nd District U.S. House rematch between two-term Rep. Dave Loebsack and Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks to be a statistical dead heat.

The poll by the Tarrance Group found Loebsack leading 41 percent to 40 percent with 13 percent undecided and Libertarian Gary Sicard getting 6 percent...

The unions jumped into the race this week with mailers supporting Dave and bashing Mariannette, not to mention Dave himself came out attacking her in the press. Dave can talk thru his teeth all he wants but the way he's chasing MMM around on the campaign trail and knee-jerk reacting, he's scared as hell.

I don’t how much faith I have in that poll. I hope she is that close. I would love to see that arrogant “academic” Loebsack go. Can she overcome the libs in Johnson County? I don’t live in the district, (battling Boswell here with Dave Zaun) but I would love to see a clean sweep in November.

It’s hard to say, but I’m glad that this was with about 2 months to go and before ads came out. Even if it’s not that close it’s a decent base to work from.
