Faulk isn't even advertising. I live in the moron's district and if it weren't for my drive in to work I wouldn't even know Faulk is running. There is ONE sign up. Faulk hasn't run any ads that I am aware of, nothing. Sheila has given him plenty of soundbites but he does nothing with them.

It's like he's asking to lose. Nobody knows who this guy is, as far as I am concerned he's not even trying.

And the only reason Queen Shiela wins is with the few voters that vote straight democratic ticket.

I think he’s advertised on 1070AM and/or 700AM but he needs to reach out to OTHER voters in the district.

Biggest thing he needs to do is to replay Queen Shiela’s quote were she says she has the “dishonor” of representing Texas in this district.

REP. SHEILA JACKSON LEE (D), TEXAS: Asked me why my braids were so tight, but I know there is a better way. And I know that because members of the Congressional Black Caucus worshipped this morning at the Mount Zion Baptist Church. And Pastor Smith said to us, to call upon healing the land. We'll be able to heal the land by voting this evening on a health care bill that will help those who cannot help themselves. Those single mothers, those people with pre-existing disease, and I have the dishonor of being a member of Congress representing the state of Texas that has the highest number of uninsured.

And so today, there will be no shame in my vote, because I'll vote for those Texans who are not here and cannot speak for themselves. And seniors will have insurance. And 95 percent of Americans will have insurance. This is a day.

----------

They still are no more insured than they were before the vote. It doesn't kick in for a couple more years (we start paying for it NOW).

The 18th NEEDS to be redrawn anyway...

Looks like Faulk ran as the Republican candidate in 2008 and mustered only 20% to her 77%, but that was with a high turnout (58%) during a "yay Obama!" election cycle.

The 18th is a rotten gerrymander but keep in mind that:

1. These racist districts are mandated by the Voting "Rights" Act, and

2. They can work to actually help Republicans by placing a high percentage of liberal racists in such districts, leaving the surrounding districts much more fertile ground for good representation.

So for every insane monkey like Jackson-Lee we get a couple of good Republicans in adjacent districts. Newt was smart enough to see the good in this liberally-madated racism back when the VRA was pased in 1992 and it did help get the R's in control of the House for a while.

OH yeah, if he would just hammer away at this line he'd do excellent. You know, postcards are pretty damn cheap. Heck I know of a website where you upload the template, upload the spreadsheet, it does the printing and the mailing!

He could literally put something in the hands every week, and one neighborhood this week and one next week, and just highlight the dishonor thing.

Just drive through the streets with a political loudspeaker playing that clip over and over. Sheila has a distinctly recognizable voice. Since he’s campaigning in one district, it’s not like you have to go all over town...

Same for Eddie Bernice Johnson in Dallas but Stephen Broden is fighting the good fight against her. Without Moonbeam Jackson-Lee and that former dingbat from Georgia named Cynthia McKinney, she would be the dumbest representative in the House.

I agree...on the one hand, you want to see fairness in disctricting...but if they want to concentrate their liberal voting bloc into a single district, then we’ll take it! (from a strategic perspective)

Besides the more her constituents hear her outrageous statements, the less inclined they may be to vote for her.

Having Sheila voted out of office would be akin to having a sore tooth removed.

A tooth that has been bothering you for a long, long time.

When you say “moron” I am sure you are not referring to Faulk! He is anything but.

If you understood politics at all, you might understand that advertising on a broad scale this early would only drive up her fundraising numbers (she has very little money right now), motivate her base and bring some attention and funds from the DNCC.

I am sure Faulk is trying very hard but thanks to an apathetic electorate, he has to be extremely prudent with the money he does have (over $200,000 this election cycle).

He is running on the Republican ticket (if you read his home page, you would see that) but is more inline with Constitutional Conservatives like some active groups in the news lately.

Bottom line: He has an excellent chance of winning but needs help from all like-minded conservatives. If that’s you, I encourage you to visit his website and VOLUNTEER rather than sit on the side-lines and lose every political race you have never run.

Good day.

Please: if it is such a great idea, GO DO IT!!!

If you can’t do it, find someone who can.

If you can’t do that, send money so Faulk can get someone to do it.

If you can’t do that, then please don’t be upset if he loses. It’s your fault! ;)

By moron I was talk about SJL.

If you understood politics at all, you might understand that advertising on a broad scale this early would only drive up her fundraising numbers (she has very little money right now), motivate her base and bring some attention and funds from the DNCC.

Thank you, newbie, for explaining that to me. I am sure I would have continued in my ignorance. /s

Thank you, I would have never thought to read the home page of the person I am talking about. I'm ignorant that way. /s NO Kidding he's running on the republican ticket. (rme)

Bottom line: He has an excellent chance of winning but needs help from all like-minded conservatives. If that’s you, I encourage you to visit his website and VOLUNTEER rather than sit on the side-lines and lose every political race you have never run.

And again, I appreciate you telling me things that I HAVE ALREADY DONE. Your extremely witty remarks make me feel ever so stupid.

Good day.

And to you.

Please: if it is such a great idea, GO DO IT!!!

It was a rotten idea, and anyone with a brain would have known it.

If you can’t do it, find someone who can.

It's still a rotten idea and would likely get the vehicle and person driving said vehicle shot.

If you can’t do that, send money so Faulk can get someone to do it.

I've already sent him money and told what ideas I think might work.

If you can’t do that, then please don’t be upset if he loses. It’s your fault! ;)

I have made the suggestions. I have sent emails to Faulk at his campaign. I have done everything in my power to be of some sort of assistance.

If he loses... it's his damn fault and no one else’s.

Thank you for your lovely comments.

Well, it could be a fundraising issue as well...I don’t think he gets a lot of funds to work with...

I do see him at the HCRP quarterly meetings quite often, he has handed out pencils with his name on it...

He has a Facebook page, FWIW...

To get down to brass fact...There are not enough voters that would vote Republican in that district, and the demographics are stacked against him as well...The voters in that district only see a white guy running against their black woman...And that is about as shallow as you can get...

I think he is in a position a lot like O’Donnell in Delaware...The ruling “elite” does not think (and has never thought) he ever has a chance to beat the Queen...Thats why they only give him lip service because he does keep trying...The party doesn’t want to give him an appreciable amount of money apparently because of that fact...

But these are just my observations and opinions...I hope he does well though...

The District doesn’t look as bad as I thought.

If demographics have indeed made it less than a slam dunk for Queenie, then maybe Faulk can turn her out. Understandable why the other way in 08. Would have been better had this guy come out or have gotten some publicity before now.

Really, her constituents must not be able to read.

Hey - don't paint with that broad brush. I live in her district and we're not all moonbats! Believe me, I cried just thinking about moving from Culberson's district to queen Sheila's.
