CALHOUN COUNTY — Family members of James or "Jimmy" Hansen are remembering the Senior Airman as a dedicated worker who loved his family and loved music.
The graduate of Athens High School in the Battle Creek area was killed on Wednesday when some type of a controlled explosion took place on their base in Iraq. The soldier's brother Rich tells FOX 17 News, "something went wrong" when some captured bombs were being detonated with a friend. The family was flying to Philadelphia Thursday afternoon to get specific answers from military officials.
