Hence fake but accurate. It doesn't matter if something is true, only if it feeds what people think rings true.

You take something written on a henceforth unknown Web site by completely unsourced “sources” and because it rings true you swallow it.

There's no doubt a large group of people out there that are certain that all those unnamed sources saying awful things about Sarah Palin are true too. It all rings true to them - it is what they want to hear... It sells books and magazines...
Truth matters. It has a higher standard. Conservatives are supposed to value truth above what they want to hear.
