When last heard from, Dinesh D'Souza was remaking himself as a formidable Christian apologist. His best-selling 2007 book, "What's So Great About Christianity," was so well received by those who fill America's pulpits and pews that he recently rose to the position, newly provocative because of him, of the presidency of King's College.
"Rose" isn't quite the right verb in one respect. To find the evangelical institution's "campus," one must first travel by elevator to the lower level of the Empire State Building. Even so, D'Souza can lift himself to a place to survey the left-wing landscape and choose which beehive to probe with the best chance of provoking an angry swarm.
He's always done that expertly, even mischievously. In an early book called "The End of Racism," D'Souza, whose parents came from India, offered that because antebellum slaves were considered property, many were treated "quite well."
Taken in isolation, a moral outrage. But to deny the passing observation a nuanced historical context, thereby rendering the blue and gray in moralistic black and white, is to trivialize Lincoln's agony, for which our 16th president is properly venerated.
This week an easily provoked commentariat complains that D'Souza refuses, no doubt malevolently, to accord President Obama the same nuanced appreciation he expects for his own ventures into controversy. Surely he's smiling mirthfully, their reactions being so, well, telling.
D'Souza's sin this time is his cover piece in the current Forbes, an excerpt from a forthcoming book, in which he argues that the mystery of Barack Obama can be solved simply by considering more carefully the ideological legacy of his late father, a Kenyan anti-colonialist and far-left economist.

“I didnt find DSouzas Forbes piece fully persuasive, but theres no doubt it had some interesting and probably accurate insights.”
Obama may have gotten his political inspiration and world view from Obama sr, but that may be about it. This is an old topic, but the resemblance, mannerisms, oratory style, height, facial expressions, etc between Obama and Malcom X are absolutely uncanny. Almost a perfect match, within the same age range of course.
Um, we are already past the brink of insolvency. We’re broke and running up an indentured status. China may be given vast tracts of American resouce lands to get the nation back to just mere insolvency. NEVER trust democraps, and always check anything a pubby tells you.
“Were broke and running up an indentured status.”
Appreciate your point, but the government owns gigantic printing presses which technically means we’ll always have money, it just won’t be worth anything. The jig will be up soon and no one will lend us any money. Hyperinflation is a lock.
Dr. Orly Taitz deserves much of the credit for this guy's insights. But, of course, everybody is trashing her these days so why not just steal her original ideas?
I'm sure you're familiar with the Cloward-Piven strategy. well, the current democrat party actions are that strategy writ large upon the entire nation, with unions the protected scum and dependable violent muscle when the time comes. It has happened in Greece, is cranking up in GB, and the Andy Sterns of America are making the plans for the dying Republic in which we live.
Wanna connect the dots?
I assume he just read her website and the newspapers about her struggles to reveal the truth about Obama’s heritage and development.
“Can someone provide a better explanation of Obamas hostility to Great Britain, and his insulting gift to the Queen, and other slights? Britain was governed by a Euro-Leftist at the time, it makes no sense. Only this Kenyan thing offers a reasonable clue. Those that cant even give this thesis the time of day are being disengenuous or mendacious or both.”
Don’t need one. The guy is a radical new-left president, who probably admires the black panthers but thinks the young ones are kind of scary guys but secretly wishes he were that bad. Capitalist colonialist patriarchal white oppression blah blah blah. I met hundreds of them in college—they were a dime a dozen. None had Kenyan fathers, to my knowledge. Plenty had Republican fathers.
Somewhere along the line, he went bad. That’s all I need to know.
He can be what Dinesh describes, and also be a conman lib. The two fit together, along with the Narcissist analysis. He is all three.
Don’t forget the homosexual rage factor.
The plan has been to derail the great and powerful locomotive that was once the United States and to make a train wreck of the economy.
BTW, you can actually visit the hotel on Jekel Island and go into the room where the Creature was hatched. Not so ironically, the hotel is now state owned.
