Ingenious!
Here we all thought Karl Rove was bashing Delaware conservative Christine ODonnell and all along he was just raising money for her senatorial campaign. Karl Rove walked back his attacks on Christine ODonnell this morning on FOX News.
My job as a Fox analyst is to call it as I see them, Rove explained this morning. My job is not to be a cheerleader for every Republican.
Rove listed all the reasons hes said in the past why ODonnell has destroyed the GOPs (already outside) chances at a Senate majority the problems with honesty he first mentioned on Hannity, her strange finances, etc but then made it clear that hes 100% behind the partys rising star.
Look, I endorsed her the other night, he said this morning. I was one of the first to do it.

You may have had a game plan, but it appears the people of Delaware who voted for O’Donnell didn’t agree with you. That would be the majority of Republicans voting. It doesn’t matter what you and the establishment republicans wanted.
Dick Army said that the Tea Party wants to REFORM the GOP, not BE the GOP. That is what scares Rove and the other entrenched Washingtonians. They do not want to be reformed. They are all addicted to power and perks, and they will do anything and everything to keep them.

“Roves comments the other night are starting to look like the seminal moment. The outrage has scared the Republican establishment to their core. The backlash against Rove is going to go down as the moment the Republican party got the message that they can either work for the Tea Party, or get replaced by them. there is no privileged place, theer. I dont think we can trust them yet, but the Republican party establishment now knows they need to be afraid. They will not be able to use this movement to return to a Rockefeller Republican role. Theyll probably still try, though.
In the last 48 hours Ive heard real originality rhetoric from Hucakbee, Rove and Michael Steele.
The fight will go on for many more years, but I think Roves comments were a key moment.”
Great points. And some people still don’t understand why O’Donnell’s victory was so important. It may not seem like it, but last night was one of the most important points in American political history. For better or worse, the fight is now in the open.
But you are also right that we need to remain vigilant. At least with Democrats you know that you cannot trust them. It is the Republicans working against conservatism/constitutional government that are the most damaging, because they can be so difficult to spot, and it is tempting to just tolerate them.
We need to keep our enemies close and our friends closer.
This primary was about Castle. Castle failed to reconnect with his base, and they were angry with some of his record, most principally the cap and trade vote. In this environment, the conservative base would have voted for Porky Pig over Castle.
Now it will be interesting to see if O’Donnell can make a race of this. Rasmussen poll was fairly encouraging.
I think he was talking to Rove, not to you. :)
Oh, Karl, just GIVE IT A REST.
I have tried to find Catherine’s reply to some of the smears, like the mortgage issue, etc.
I can’t seem to find anything from a reputable source.
What is HER explanation?
(Don’t get me wrong, I just want to see that she is fighting back!)
It wasn’t my game plan; it was the plan of candidates from top to bottom, including conservative incumbents (Joe Booth) to challengers (Winegar, Travis) to solid conservatives such as Colin Bonini running for statewide office.
These candidates — solid conservatives — are not happy that Castle is not at the top of the ticket. If you don’t believe me, ask them.
The only thing I learned is that I cannot trust Karl Rove.
He's been dead since the 2008 fiasco. All we see now is his stinking corpse.
I sincerely hope that O’Donnell can get beyond these issues by frankly addressing them and putting them to rest.
If the election is on issues, O’Donnell can win.
If the election is about character, O’Donnell loses.
Reagan’s 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.
Rove is no Reaganite- in more ways than one.
Karl Rove said a lot more than that!
He savaged her personally, making her sound like a whack job with the the ethics of a Charlie Rangel. He is calling on her to “Tell the truth,” accusing her of lying. He hasn’t been addressing her political views, he is attacking her social views, which are grounded in her Christian faith.
This is nothing other than blatant character assassination by Karl Rove.
Look, I endorsed her the other night, he said this morning. I was one of the first to do it.
With friends like Lardboy, who needs enemies?
Nope, just refreshingly logical.
Why would anyone punt on 3rd down?
Angle was down 20 points when she started. O’Donnell is only down 11. The attacks need to be on Coons and she has a very good chance to win this thing. Look at Coons Marxist views, his views on Free Enterprise not working, his wanting to distribute wealth. Those are the issues that got O’Donnell elected the Party rep. Those are the issues that will get her the seat if we phrase it that way and do it often enough.
