Primaries prove Palin, Tea Party are for real ( Ed Rollins: Sarah Palin is the woman!)
cnn.com ^ | Wednesday September 15, 2010 | Ed Rollins, CNN Senior Political Analyst

Posted on 09/15/2010 8:00:22 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

(CNN) -- The preliminaries are over; let the battles begin. With less than seven weeks to go, here are the conclusions of the primary season completed yesterday.

The Tea Party is for real! Sarah Palin is the woman!

Whether mainstream Republicans or the political class like it, she is the darling of the angry, motivated voters out there and her endorsement counts big time, at least in Republican primaries.

Forget Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell's endorsement. In May, he couldn't even get his hand-picked candidate the nomination in a state he is supposed to control. You want to win, get support from Senator Jim DeMint, chairman of the conservative Senate Republican Steering Committee, or former Majority leader and Tea Party activist Dick Armey.

Not every Palin-endorsed candidate won, but she certainly was a major player in taking unknown candidates and getting them across the finish line. The winners in the Senate primaries yesterday in New Hampshire and Delaware yesterday were just added to that list.

I can't remember any political cycle where the Republican establishment took the mugging its taken over the last few months

“Primaries prove Palin, Tea Party are for real...”

“Welcome to the party, pal!”

As if we needed to hear this for confirmation.

This is Ed Rollins, one of the finest political analysts in America and he always has been. The Republicans ought to hire him to help them win elections, because he knows more about how to win elections than anyone else. He is vastly superior to Karl Rove. But he won’t get the job.

By the way, Ed, I read your book and it was a great book.

Funny because most people here will not like him because he was Huckabee’s campaign manager in 2008. I like him

That was “paid” work. This is personal opinion.

I am a little surprised he did not make the connection between now and the Reagan Presidential Run.

The Tea Party Today, is in my opinion, the same type of voters that Reagan had. A different name, but the same type of coalition. Conservatives, Independents and of Course the Famous “Regan Democrats”

“I can’t remember any political cycle where the Republican establishment took the mugging its taken over the last few months”

The mugging is coming for both parties, it’s just happening to the Republicans first because the first step is the Republican primaries.

Rollins indeed dissed Sarah repeatedly....but he nor anyone else can’t disprove her strong influence and power that she has right now...Rollins would be a fool to say otherwise

He may not like her.

But it sounds like he respects her.

Plus he’s probably looking for a 2012 client.

If the GOP loses the Delaware seat, it will be because of Sarah Palin. We will see what happens.

Actually, it will likely be because of Karl Rove........

I've never seen anything like this, what a vindictive little man, attacking an elected R nominee like that. Where was he when Bush was being savaged?

I don’t think Karl Rove was “attacking.”

He was giving his analysis of the race.

I think Karl Rove is correct about this race.

We shall see.
