GOP leaders -- Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, John Boehner, Karl Rove and others -- as well as establishment Republicans have no idea how livid Americans are with them.
Republican leaders are in a panic because they have lost control of the Republican Party.
Grassroots constitutional conservatives are inside the Citadel, and are poised to take over.
All across the country -- in the Northeast, the South, the West -- Americans feel betrayed by Republican politicians. Last nights election results show that the grassroots anger is directed at more than just the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Democrats.
Christine ODonnells inspiring upset in Delaware, Ovide Lamontagnes populist and improbable surge in New Hampshire, Carl Paladinos trouncing of Rick Lazio in New York -- and previous primary wins by Sharron Angle, Ken Buck, Joe Miller, etc. -- all have been the result of the grassroots uprising against big government and the ruling class, and in spite of the GOP establishment.
Never before in American history has a movement made such momentous change in such a short period of time.
As Reagan said in 1976, Americans want new leaders unfettered by old ties and old relationships.
The symbolically stupid decision last night by the National Republican Senatorial Committee not to fund Christine ODonnells general election campaign, which it reversed this morning only after a massive grassroots uproar, and Karl Roves meltdown on Foxs Hannity show will only fuel further primary challenges to GOP political leaders.
Current GOP leaders not retired in 2010, will be in 2012 and 2014, and can join their former colleagues, such as Trent Lott, on the K Street lobbying circuit. And, they should get used to saying, Majority Leader DeMint.
PULL the tubes anyway, they are double crossing Benedict Arnolds, worthless to our cause.
The good part of this is that both the Democrats and Republicans should be running terrified, since the Tea Party is still fairly fragmented on a national basis, but very united on a local basis. Maybe, just maybe within three three election cycles, we can reacquire what made this country great.
Perhaps . . . maybe . . . just maybe . . . they might be able to hear us now. But, don’t count on it until after November.
...as in Buh-bye GOP.
“You neglected to mention the greatest Maverick, Juan, lest we forget.”
Yes, McShame is CINO/RINO Public Enemey No. 1 and an example of how hard some of these “mavericks” will be to take down.
Fortunately, most of these squishy “moderates” don’t have $20 million in their campaign coffers that donors gave them to spend on beating a commie from a race two years previous but which they squirreled away instead of fighting the commie.
good news, thanks. It’s a new day and I smell victory.
“The Rainbow Coalition BIG GOP PARTY MACHINE that Rove and the Bushies BUILT and STILL control is crumbling.”
I hope so, and hope it crumbles to the size of grains of sand.
Majority Leader DeMint and House Speaker Ryan- wouldn’t that be loverly?
na na na na
na na na na
hey hey hey
good bye!
“The GOP (Old Party) should be very afraid of the revolution that is taking place. Either get on board or else...”
Right. A few of them must have chatted about this, since they said this morning they would back O’Donnell after the firestorm that broke out when Rove maligned her last night and Cornyn said the NRSC would not be supporting her.
I think the fear is starting to manifest itself.
“Rush finessed any criticism of that rat Rove today, even when pushed by a caller.”
Rush may feel somewhat compromised since he had Rove fill in for him recently. But Rush has to know where Rove stands with his past treatment of conservatives who want to stop the invasion of legals.
“If the GOP wins the House, I think we should revolt if they want to elect Boehner as Speaker. We should start campaigning now..who should it be?”
Pence?
The Republican Party died on November 1, 1988. It’s been a long, slow decay, but the stench of death has been getting stronger all the time. Now, all that’s left is bones. I no longer think it’s possible to breath life into what’s left over.
As of this morning, I’m an independent. I will no longer “vote for the most conservative in the primary and the one with an R after their name in the general election.” I did that for too many years. All it has gotten us is a bunch of good-for-nothing RINOs.
To paraphrase another Freeper, it is better to take a step toward a majority in thought, than a leap toward a majority in name.
I’m done with the GOP. If I vote for a GOP candidate in the future, it will be because I want to see that particular person in office, not because they put an R after their name.
DO NOT even entertain the idea that the RINO’s will never forget their base again. IMHO they will put on a good show of reforming, but given the chance, they will switch back to their old ways.
RINO’s MUST BE PURGED!
They were poor leaders and poor leaders always lose in the end.
“At last a glimmer of hope. Kick all the old RINO asses out and never let them have any connection with the Republican Party that will be in the process of being rebuilt. Hooray!”
A very good glimmer, and a very good start to kicking some of these “moderates” out. The Dims don’t have moderates, they’re all hard core commies. Then why should the Republicans have moderates? Let the Dims embrace moderates, or let the moderates form their own third party. There has to be a party that stands for the constitution and conservatism. The Republicans just have not been getting the job done and had to be given shock therapy.
This primary season was an opening shot and a warning to the rest of the Castles, Murkowskis, Bennetts, Trey Graysons, and other establishment candidates. We’ll come at them even harder in 2012 and 2014.
They lost the constituency long ago. Relationships don’t fail overnight.
Yeah, I think we need to keep Juan at the front of the list of barriers to a GOP that represents the interests of those who want the Constitution as actual the law of the land.
Yeah well, some of the Senate RINOs aren’t up until 2012, and others until 2014. So until then we can hope that Christine’s massive upset will scare the $hit out of them and keep them on the reservation.
