Senate: Dem 47, GOP 46, Tossup 7 (and GOP LEADS in 6 of these 7).

New polling in Ohio has moved that state's U.S. Senate race from Toss-Up to Leans Republican.

Other recent changes came from polling in Alaska, Kentucky, North Carolina and West Virginia, Washington.

Current projections suggest that the Democrats would hold 47 seats after Election Day while the Republicans would hold 46. Seven states are in the Toss-Up category (California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Wisconsin, Washington and West Virginia. All seven Toss-Ups are seats currently held by Democrats

Republicans have the edge in five Democratic-held Senate seats--Arkansas, Indiana, North Dakota, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

At the moment, no Republican-held seats appear headed for the Democratic column.

That is not true. Real Clear Politics moved Delaware to leans
Dem, not Rasmussen. There was a typo in the thread that was corrected.

Three points?! That’s it?

LOL so why did we need to elect Castle? 3 points is nothing.

48-45 is very winnable and moreso than in WV. That’s a ‘tossup’.

Nope I goofed when I read the other guys post. Ras is predicting a 48-45 split in the entire Senate, with 7 toss ups (6 favored by GOP). He moved DE from leans GOP to leans Dem. Still I don't think the first polls are going to show it as being as bad as everyone is saying. A Tough fight yes, but not impossible.

I'll be at “work” on FR most of the day. It's ok since I am self employed I guess.

“What happened in WV?”

I understand the Democratic candidate is anti-coal.

Brilliant position to hold in West Virginia. . . .

If a Republican wins the Senate in California, you know that means even the state will possibly go red in ‘12 Presidential election. At this rate, Obama may have to pull a LBJ and save his party the embarrassment.

Last night might very well have cost us that seat. It certainly didn’t put us closer to winning it and shouldn’t be celebrated. That might keep the Dems in charge.

Sorry to rain on your parade (and that’s a nice bonnet you are wearing), but the R’s are not going to do as well as most expect. They MAY take the House but will at BEST net 2 seats in the Senate.

Perhaps you missed the MASSIVE surge of cash into the O'Donnell campaign. (Almost $700K today alone)

The enthusiasm is palpable.

It will be humorous to watch the 'conventional wisdom' of the RINO establishment get rehashed over the next 7.5 weeks.

Even the now-embarrassing remarks of a 'top Republican official' on CNN less than 24 hours ago mock them:

However, a top Republican official told CNN on Tuesday night that O'Donnell will have to show she can generate viable support before the national party will give her money.

"It is now incumbent on Sarah Palin, (U.S. Sen.) Jim DeMint and the Tea Party Express to help support her," the official said on condition of not being identified by name. "They got her here. Now make it happen."

The RINO establishment leadership can try to jump in front of this and pretend leadership or they can be swept out of the way, but trashing the nominee is a stupid, losing position to take.

Me too. Although I am taking Wednesday off because I want to be up late at night to listen to the commentary. It should be interesting. I can’t wait!!! I figure I don’t need to take Tuesday off as the results don’t start until late afternoon at the earliest. Good for you for taking both off...that is awesome!

No way is Colorado a toss-up. I’m here.

And a nasty, nasty storm is brewing for Mayor Hickenlooper out here. (Dem candidate for Governor). Special Land deals, phoney appraisals (how would you like your property appraisal to go up 400% in 24 months?) tax evasion, funding of ultra leftist causes, and he’s avoiding all questions........

We may yet end up with 3rd party Tancredo as Governor because the 2 major party candidates are suffering from terminal ethical pratfalls.

Dem 7. West Virginia Senate: Manchin (D) 50%, Raese (R) 45%

Can't believe WV would still vote (D) - with the coal issue and all. I hope Ras is pipe dreaming and I'm dealing w/reality. ;)
