Councilman Matt Schultz won a competitive primary in June to become the Republican nominee for Iowa Secretary of State. Schultz largely credits his success to the fact that he supports a law requiring all voters to show a Photo ID before they vote.
Michael Mauro has made several media appearances recently including Iowa Press and the radio show Max World Live where he discusses Photo ID legislation.
Michael Mauro is lying about Iowa law and a Photo ID. Mauro has been telling half truths when referring to Photo ID requirements. He has implied that showing a Photo ID when you register to vote on Election Day means that everyone has to show a Photo ID before they vote. This is not true, said Schultz.
