Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:
“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.
“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.
“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.
“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.
“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.
“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”
Tried to contact NRSC can’t get through!
Hoping I can reach them later. They need to hear what we think.
Coming out right as Christine was giving her acceptance speech was so mean!
Had it.
Brilliant just brilliant. My contribution to the NRC will now go directly to O’Donnell. These establishment asswipes will regret this petty move!!!
I mentioned that earlier in an Odonnell thread. No more clothespin voting for a RINO. Get the conservative candidates on the ballot in the primaries; to hell with even the incumbent RINO's, and I could care less about backing from the RNC, and take the risk of losing in the general election.
We have to start righting the course; this is IT.
And Webster in FL ... Grayson HAS TO GO.
But, but, but, I thought the NRSC was all about getting 51 seats? That nothing was more important than that, apparently it was only important to put a RINO in the 51st seat, when it’s a conservative, they don’t really care to.
So no money to even conservative candidates? No money to Christine O'Donnell? That'll sure teach 'em...
The most important thing should be to get rid of this Administration, Congress and all. So why in God’s name would they pick now for an intra-party fight? I’m so disappointed in all these people.
If we don’t take the majorities back in November, I blame them the GOP, the RNC, the establishment who have the same attitude as this Congress, they know best - the people know nothing.
Just wow. The masks really are off.
We are seeing history.
“But giving money to Crist, Specter, Scuzzyfavor, Chaffee, Snow, Collins, et al is ok....”
So we had to vote for their cr@p candidates but when our candidate wins they take their support and go home. This is war folks.
I guess Steele and all the other GOP cronies are going to wonder why donations are down in a few weeks.
I am called at least 1-3 times per week. I told them I will be watching and see if the republican learn to be conservative. I would decide if I will put my money in the general election. They just made my decision for me. All of my contributions will be going to Delaware. If they reconsider I may or I may not.
Well.... Bye GOP. It’s been real, it’s been fun, but it ain’t been real fun. Now maybe that you’re removing yourself from the game, real conservatives can come forward and we can undo the damage that you, the GOP and the Democrats have done for the last 40+ years.
We are now at war. No more money to any of them. NONE.
NRSC needs to back off this quick!
Yup, they're supporting the democrat. It proves that the DNC and the RNC are two wings of the same party.
Knock knock, GOP.
Candygram.
Per Rachel Maddow tonight, 8 of the Senate candidates supported by the RNSC have lost in their primaries. The Senate Committe screwed up in their candidate selection and deserve no money. Give directly to conservative candidates.
“I no longer belong to the GOP if there is a choice between Tea Party and GOP in an election.”
This time last year, i hoped tea would see that it was at home in the repub party. Now im with you. The repubs have been a DISGRACE since Scazzafava. They want the same game to continue, only with them at the helm. Im with you,,,,
After the rant by Rove on Hannity I read about, and now this, I’m convinced the depth of the entrenchment of the Left within the GOP has been grossly underestimated.
I think this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the Left has taken the reins of the Republican Party, and as I’ve stated in the past the RINO’s are Stealth Leftists.
We have been concerned, and suspicious for several years now, and haven’t sent a nickel to the Republican Party having told them we don’t trust them when they call.
We feel vindicated by this action of the RINO Party.
Her website looks like it is getting blasted. My guess people shooting over to donate.
