“Islam minority”? Minority? Try about 70-80 Million of them. That represents the SMALL minority of muslims that are extremist. These are big numbers folks. Don’t be fooled by the word...... “minority”.

I understand. If we keep these numbers in front of people, they may begin to realize what the world us up against. 70-80 Million terrorists is a huge number, it’s not just a minority any longer.

According to figures accummulated by the RC in Rome, there have been more Christians martyred in the 20th and the early 21st centuries than in all of the prior 19 centuries combined. They're not counting abortions in the totals, either. This is out and out persecution of Christians for no other reason than that they are Christians.

These folks are being crucified, beheaded, tortured, disfigured, raped and enslaved prior to death. I don't think George Bush or the United States is anywhere close to topping the numbers — not even in spitting range — of the numbers of Christians who are waiting under the Altar of God in Heaven. People need to take a good hard look at what is going on and make a decision to align firmly against inhumanity. I don't want to hear about what happened 1200 years ago by people I didn't know or have any relationship with. This is going on now as I type these words and it isn't Crusaders who are doing it. We need to hold up the mirror, let the sun shine in and let the world decide what to do with these enemies of mankind and God.

I understand that that poster was trying to show the ironic anti-Bush propaganda.

With the people who recently died over the Koran book burning, I wonder what the total number of people dead because of Muslim "outrage" is.

There's the outrage and deaths over the Nike shoes with the flames that looked like "Allah".

The outrage and deaths in Malaysia over Christians being allowed to use the common term "Allah" in their services.

The outrage and deaths over the Miss World beauty contest in Nigeria.

And, of course, the Danish cartoons.

There are obviously many more and I wonder if they were all included in the 500,000 number.

“Try about 70-80 Million of them. That represents the SMALL minority of muslims that are extremist.”

Are you saying 70-80 million are extremists? My reaction to the story was “500,000 down, X to go” but I don’t know what X is. Is X really 79.5 million? If so, it’s no wonder they call this the Long War.

Estimates are that there are 1 Billion muslims in the world. Only.....only.....7-8% are radicals. 7-8% = 70-80 million. Yes, it will be a long war. Unless the people of the world start standing up, as is France.

I was just sarcastically imitating the ludicrous statistics the anti-war left kept tossing around trying to paint Bush as some kind of war criminal.

Thx, I’m kind of gullible sometimes, which is not good - cause satire and sarcasm runs high around here.

“Estimates are that there are 1 Billion muslims in the world. Only.....only.....7-8% are radicals. 7-8% = 70-80 million.”

Even assuming the 7-8% figure is accurate (which really depends on how you define “radical”), as conflict between Muslims and the West increases, the “radicals” will gain many, many more supporters.

Also, a group of radicals that is that small (percentage-wise) in a population, wouldn’t last very long without the support of a signifigantly larger percentage of the population sheltering, funding, and providing aid to them. For example, it’s impossible to wage a guerilla war successfully without support of a good percentage of the populace. I think it stands to reason the terrorists also enjoy similar tacit support from a large segment of the Islamic world, or we wouldn’t still be discussing them.
