The Obama administration is considering appointing the legal scholar Elizabeth Warren to run a new consumer bureau on a temporary basis to avoid a potentially bruising confirmation battle in the Senate, according to people who have been briefed on the search.

I hope you are right, but the new Republicans won’t be in office until January, and you know how difficult it is to change entrenched programs and bureaucrats. We will see if the new Congress is willing to put up a good fight.
the law they passed actually grants Turbo Timmy the power to appoint someone without Congressional approval (though Obama would likely have to point several guns to his head to get him to do it).
Part of what I expect to be the October Surprise.
“Hey, America, we’re forcing a rollback on your Visa Card interest to 10%, forgiving half your student loans, and implementing a foreclosure moratorium and cramdown program”.
One of these days the One may actually find and appoint someone who has actual hands on experience instead of an academic for one of these important positions in government.
