It's common these days for the government to respond to any objection to an example of it's excesses by fantastically multiplying it, setting it on fire, and shoving it into everyone's face, while sneering "we've just started."
Here's a perfect example, from the article: "Joanne Ferreira, of the US Department of Homeland Security, said there are about 60 reasons a person can be barred."
To all those who object to what happened to this kid, that's called getting spit in your face by DHS (just in case you're not clear on the message).

It was the FBI, which is part of Eric Holder's Justice Dept, not DHS, that did the dirty work here.
Which raises another question/point - why wasn't it the US Secret Service that showed up at the kids doorstep? They're supposed to have exclusive jurisdiction over this type of thing. Wonder if they took a look at the email, concluded: "just a drunk kid" and wouldn't do what clearly "needed" to be done here.
