Ravenstahl, Pittsburgh officials travel to Asia next month

Nearly a year after Pittsburgh hosted the G-20 economic summit, local officials will travel to Asia to talk up the city's transformation from a smoky steel town to a city known for its educational institutions and medical facilities.

Pittsburgh's contingent, which includes Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, Chief of Staff Yarone Zober, Allegheny Conference on Community Development CEO Dennis Yablonsky and officials from the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, will visit Shanghai, China and Seoul Korea from Oct. 6-15.

How did we allow ourselves to be bamboozled by these crooked politicians who claim they can create wealth and jobs by taking vacations at our expense? I am so tired of the so-called economic development crap that is nothing more than gussied up Soviet 5-year plans and a source of easy spending money for politicians.

If you put one of those dumbass budget cutters in charge, they'll let Pittsburgh's bridges collapse into the rivers unless you agree to sell them to some jagoff Spanish company who'll charge you an arm & a leg just to drive dahntahn an thru the Tubes anat.
