Generic Congressional Ballot: Republicans 47%, Democrats 38%

Republican candidates now hold a nine-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Forty-seven percent (47%) of respondents say they would voter for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 38% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Last week, Republicans held a 12-point lead, matching their largest advantage ever in Rasmussen Reports surveying.

Still, while the margin has varied somewhat from week-to-week, Republicans have been consistently ahead in the Generic Ballot for over a year. During 2010, the GOP edge has never fallen below five points. When Barack Obama first took office as president of the United States, the Democrats enjoyed a seven-point lead on the Generic Ballot.

Results for this survey are compiled on a full-week basis, and crosstabs for full-week results  and generic ballot trends are available for Platinum Members only.

Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, notes that “voters are ready to deliver the same message in 2010 that they delivered in 2006 and 2008 as they prepare to vote against the party in power for the third straight election. These results suggest a fundamental rejection of both political parties.”

Averaging in last week, looks like the lead is about 10%

Yeah, the 10% advantage appears to be the mean.

The creatures from he() aren’t going to let go of power so easily if it goes against them.

They will do the election fraud, the lies, the subversive, childish, adolescent things they do in order to win.

So, it ain’t over until it’s over.

IMHO

It isn’t even over after the election.

In fact then, if all goes well, it is just beginning.

Will Republicans lead or just hold the line?

So, Gallup over the last 3 weeks has been 10, 9, 6, 0, and 5, which averages to about 6% and that is RV. Rasmussen has been 12, 9, 6, 12, 9, which averages to 9.6% and that is LV.

If Repubs take control of one or both (wow!) houses they must lead us out of the socialist morass even if they have to drag the leftists, illegal aliens, unionists, blacks, and freeloaders with them. The howls of this vocal minority must be ignored just as the Demonrats and 0bummer ignored opposition of the majority of Americans.

Is that still within the margin of cheating?

Is that still within the margin of cheating?

Actually no.

2% is outside the margin to cheat. To cheat any vote it must be close enough that it does not alter the mean or the median trend. That is about 1.5% or less. You can cheat and get away with that because, unless caught with ballots in hand, it won't show as a deviation on any statistical analysts.

BTW: The GOP was not even LEADING 60 days out in 1994. This 9-12 points is historically UNPRECEDENTED.

This is going to be an election Holocaust for the Dems as well as the RINOs.

The last time America saw a shift of power as great as the one coming, was 150 years ago, when all of the southern states walked out to form their own nation.

So they’ll generate a few votes, and VOILA! 110% of the population will vote and the ‘crats will win!

I agree it could be bad. But remember, the dems have a knack for getting an un-motivated black base to the polls, which is one area where their current percentages are lower than expected. You have to assume they will get that up to 90% by election day. The real key are the suburban moderate, independent, soccer mom, etc., crowd. Right now they are tracking as either un-motivated or breaking heavily to GOP.

Democrats can’t even cheat their way out of this one. This won’t be an election, it’ll be a reckoning.

You needn’t worry about disproportionate black turnout affecting House races. The overwhelming proportion of balck voters are concentrated in black-majority Democratic districts, none of which are in the top 100 priority races.

It will be independents, Hispanics, and unemployed blue collar families that determine the outcome. Suburban Moms are already back on board, and at least for this cycle these stupid women will not vote against their own husband’s paycheck.
