Price for not listening (This is a real reporter)
PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW ^ | SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 | Salena Zito

BIG BEAVER

Voters in river towns like this one, from the Mid-Atlantic to the Midwest and Deep South, are frustrated with Washington.

Most are working-class Democrats and independents who placed their trust in Democrats in the past two election cycles.

Yet with all of its poll numbers and focus groups, Washington's ruling class still does not understand Main Street. In fact, it wants to know what is wrong with Americans.

President Barack Obama, his advisers, congressional leaders and even many elite Beltway pundits believe voter anger among Republicans alone may cause Democrats to lose November's midterm election.

They could not be more wrong.

Democrats are losing the confidence of Main Street Democrat and independent voters because they did not listen. It really is that simple.

Yet instead of owning up to Democrats' shortcomings, Gov. Ed Rendell blames a GOP takeover by "wackos" and "fruit loops" -- and the president, in a major economic-policy speech, says something very unpresidential about being referred to as a "dog."

“He(Obama) has to get out among working-class voters and display his popular touch.”

...he has no popular touch...he’s an urban negro who spent the formative first 17 years of his life outside the continental US in Indonesia, Hawaii, Pakistan and Africa...he was mysteriously educated in elite colleges...he’s never held a middle class or working class type job...he’s a slick black Democrat hustler is all...and average people are waking up to that fact.

I think a huge part of it is the insensitivity Obama and Bigfoot show with their constant partying, vacationing and golf.

It’s not rocket science. When you’re eating pasta for the third time in a week to stretch a budget, the last thing you want to see is Obama slurping another damn ice cream on Martha’s Vineyard, or oh-so-chic Michelle Antoinette glitzing her ditzy way down the street in Spain.

The Obama’s are parvenus. And like most parvenus, they do not know how to tastefully and tactfully enjoy the largess they have managed to luck their way into.

"He has to get out among working-class voters and display his popular touch."

I remember one such display involving a plumber named Joe; Obama was not and is not interested in what the working-class thinks, as it has no bearing on his agenda.

The real problem is that 0bama and the people around him aren't in the business of listening to people they hold in open contempt, and that, my FRiends, is us. We need to be listening to them, in their opinion; we need to be enlightened, corrected, educated, led. If not it's because we're racist.

That's the narrative and they're sticking to it to the bitter end. Well, at least until 3 November.

which was more of a vote against George W. Bush than for Democrats,

And that was whipped up by the dems, and the MSM. Bush did a fair job in VERY tough times, but he was not the idiot or evil person they made him to be. Instead they elected their "ONE". their savior. Instead they forgot our traditions and voted in the horrors of socialism and strict government control on our whole way of life.

ALL the government bureaus and administrations are harder and stricter than they ever imagined they could be.... even under Bush and Chenney! Dem fools. And to who it applies read my tag line. The rest. well thanks for keeping your thinking straight.

So kept out were many who did not "pass muster", and thereby effectively O was voted O in as president by an overwhelming NON VOTE! As much a fool as McCainly was/is, do you think he would have been at least 3 trillion bad like the admin of O has been?

Really? Did you REALLY THINK, realizing O was going to win because of your protest non-vote, that O would be that much better than a worthless than Bush was and weak McCainstrer would be?

Again, REALLY?????????
