Democrats Invoking Palin to Stir Base (Desperate Dems alert!)

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Gone are the days when President Obama was the biggest source of motivation for Democrats.

The role now belongs to Sarah Palin...
< snip >
It was a telling moment at Senator Tom Harkin’s 33rd annual steak fry, where Mr. Plouffe, along with David Axelrod, a senior adviser to the president, came to try to dispel the predictions of a dismal November for Democrats. They promoted the party’s accomplishments, but they suggested that if members needed more enticement for Election Day, they should keep Ms. Palin and other Republicans at the forefront of the conversation.

“Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are bad enough, but they’re not the real Republican Party,” Mr. Plouffe said. “It is Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. That is the power. All of these Republican candidates have to pledge allegiance to them, their intolerance and their backwards thinking.”
< snip>
This year, Ms. Palin’s name came up again and again. She is set to make her first trip of the year to Iowa on Friday as the marquee speaker at the Republican Party’s annual Ronald Reagan Dinner, an appearance that will undoubtedly fuel a round of speculation — founded or not — about whether she intends to run for president in 2012.

The Democrats, starting with Mr. Harkin, practically salivated at the idea of it.

“We asked Glenn Beck to estimate the size of the crowd. He said 500,000,” Mr. Harkin said, taking a swipe at the conservative television host who held a large rally last month in Washington. “We asked Sarah Palin. She said it was so big that she could see it from Wasilla.”

Laugh it up, fuzzballs! Wonder if this will all be so funny on Wednesday, Nov. 3rd?

Sniff, sniff--does anyone else smell democratic desperation in the air? :-)

Speaking of Sarah Palin’s political endorsements, here’s an interesting tidbit I read from Wikipedia :

Sarah’s husband, Todd Palin’s stepmother, Faye Palin, ran unsuccessfully in 2002 for the position of Mayor for Wasilla, Alaska, to succeed (of all people) Sarah Palin, who was term-limited.

Faye Palin, who is pro-choice and a registered Democrat, lost to Dianne M. Keller, a candidate endorsed by Sarah Palin.

Get that ? SARAH PALIN ENDORSED SOMEONE ELSE RUNNING AGAINST HER OWN MOTHER-IN-LAW !!

I wonder if Sarah and Faye speak to each other nowadays !!

I wouldn’t want to be present at their household during any Thanksgiving re-unions.

Dem voters already hate Palin though.

So how come they didn't rally to Conway's campaign, to Tom Campbell's campaign, and now to O'Donnell's campaign?

If Dem voters were energized over Palin they would be out there in droves supporting whoever is running against the candidate endorsed by Palin.

Citing someone who possesses goodness and truth does disturb Democrats. They can't help but hate goodness and truth.

So, now they’re running against Palin instead of Bush?

Methinks they need to shut themselves in in the closet with their propaganda playbooks and consult the ghost of Goebbels. Surely they can do better than this.

Well, being polite to your mother in law is a little different from endorsing her opportunistic run for office on the basis of false name recognition. I’m sure Sarah makes every effort to be polite, but that doesn’t mean that she endorses a pro-choice Democrat to run her old home town.

I bet that the Dims and their lackeys in media know all about it. Remember they have done noting but investigate Palin since 2008. And when they can't find anything bad about her, they just make stuff up.

But like you said, its interesting that they haven't used against her.

This morning the Dems coordinated with the major television network news divisions to sound the alarm about the evil Newt Gingrich and Boehner and all the TV networks accomodated all of the David Axelrod talking points. Barry has finally stopped blaming Bush for everything. He’s now quickly updating his teleprompter speeches to replace “Bush” “Cheney” and “Rove” with “Palin” “Gingrich and “Boehner.” Barry is really good with the nitpicking and fingerpointing. Is his only real skill in fact.
