Mob Burns Christian School in JK, Church in Punjab

Following a rumour that the Quran had been desecrated in the US, violent mob burnt a Christian Christian missionary school in north Kashmir's Tangmarg town on Sep 13.

In the Valley, where curfew was imposed for the second consecutive day in major towns on Sep 13, 14 people were killed in the fallout of the protests and several people were injured.

Violence also spreaded in Punjab's Muslim majority Malerkotla town where the property of a church was set on fire by a mob following the same rumours that the Quran has been burnt in US.

State Chief Secretary S S Kapur said, "We appeal to the people not to heed unverified reports about the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran which have only been aired by Press TV and no other television news channel in the world."

It boggles the mind that anyone would worship a “god” that can so easily be devastated/destroyed by the burning of paper and ink.
My God is greater than paper and ink.

Good ‘un.

Peace on them to infinity.

Ironic, eh, that a pastor guy threatens to exercise his right to burn a book; an iMan threatens a worldwide explosion; and the president of the United States comes to the defense of . . .

I had no idea that north Kashmir's Tangmarg was Amish country.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Sadly, that declaration precedes Obama by a long time (1797.) It was specified in Article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli and received ratification from the U.S. Senate on June 7, 1797 and signed by President John Adams on June 10, 1797. Article 11 reads,
As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

I see we're now in the proverbial pissing contest with Islam. A nut here in the US nobody every heard of before this weekend threatens to burn a Koran (but doesn't) and nuts nobody ever heard of burn down a school in Punjab. Excellent. Just perfect. So far, I've heard of 23 deaths from the riots over in the Middle East. That's just swell. I truly wonder what the good Lord thinks seeing this.

Sort’ve reminds me of the Watts riots. Folks unhappy with their lot and perceived racism burn down their own homes and tear up their neighborhoods. We have to send in law enforcement to clean up the poop. I guess it IS job security, but seems so pointless. Now young Christians have no where to go to school and the nuts are still roaming free. So freakin’ special. I say send the tab to Jones. Let him pay for the clean-up.

This is not the pastor’s fault. This is the fault of a sick cult that has a tradition of violence.

It’s sad that people can be so easily manipulated, but it infuriates me that the fault is being laid in the wrong place.

Their god is paper. This replaces the wooden idols Mohammad is said to have burned in Mecca.

Fact is he failed to reform anything ~ his mission was a total failure, and the superstitions peculiar to the people now calling themselves Moslem continue unabated.

Jones didn't burn down a church in Pakistan, Moslems did.

Best idea is to figure out how to arm Christians to the teeth in those places so they can protect themselves.

A real man would be breaking the arms of the Pak Prime Minister over this deal.
