Absolutely! You hit the nail on the head with this suggestion. If conservatives/the GOP wants to make waves about Obama "policy" and the justice department (no caps = no respect until they respect Sheriff Joe and all border sheriffs who want to enforce immigration law as per our Rule of Law), most Americans IMHO will stand beside them and cheer the investigation on.
After SB 1070 passed, there was a news story about how Rhode Island had a similar law. In fact, many states have similar laws, but only Arizona is being attacked for it. The feds know they can’t go out and sue multiple states without looking foolish, so Arizona is the scapegoat. But if they succeed with Arizona, they’ll go after the other states, who will quickly cave.
