The Second Amendment’s protection now applies not just to D.C.’s 600,000 residents but to more than 300 million people across the country.

Right now it's a bit fuzzy as to what that protection really is. I guess it will take many court cases and much time to sort that out.

Well, at least 3 states have it right: Vermont, Alaska and Arizona at least understand the plain meaning of "shall not be infringed."
