Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is trying to gain the support of birthers by suggesting that President Obama subscribes to "Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday.

"I don't even have -- quite frankly, George -- the slightest idea what he's talking about," Gibbs told George Stephanopoulos. "I think Newt Gingrich knows that he's trying to appeal to the fringe of people that don't believe the president was born in this country. You would normally expect better from somebody who held the position of speaker of the House."

More proof the White House media machine is going into overdrive to KILL the D'Souza Forbes storline BEFORE the Sept 27th issues even hits the newstands. Now they have Politico's Mike Allen parroting Baghdad Bobby Gibbs line that the Newt is nuts, and any discussion about Obama's motives and psyche is the equivalent to 'birtherism'.

This story was exploding across FR when I posted the link to the D'Souza article last Thursday. It has taken hold and is now exploding in the MSM, from Morning Joe, to CNN, to Politico. I sent the link last week to Drudge, sent again this morning. I can't figure why he won't post something about D'Souza's Forbes article. We have momentum on this story though, it is coming into the public's conciousness today, and that is a good thing.

“Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is trying to gain the support of birthers by suggesting that President Obama subscribes to “Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior,”

He is? What is the IQ of the person who wrote this?

Drudge certainly has enough show-biz froth today. But maybe there’s enough controversy now, thanks to Newt’s wading in and Gibbs’ deft comment to GSteph, to make this come up on the radar. Now it’s more than what somebody wrote in an opinion piece.

The “Forbes” article is well written. Thoughtful and matter-of-fact in its tone, I don’t think it can be smeared in this manner. Anyone reading it with an open mind is going to come away asking some serious questions and the President.

I honestly think this article could be a turning point for many people. The pieces of the Obama puzzle just fit together too tightly in this article.

If you haven’t read it online, read it. IMHO it is a must read.

Well Robert, it seems Mr. Obama’s “Dream from his Father” was well grounded in “anti-colonialism”.
Did you not read your boss’s book?

I posted it last Thursday on FR and it has exploded since. I sent Drudge the link a few times, but for some reason he will not bite. Redford’s Lincoln Assasination and Jane Fonda and Cher are evidently more important than the mind of the usurper in chief.

Newt has absolutely nothing to do with the D’Souza article. Gibbs, Barry, Axelrod and their complicit journalist hacks cravenly are trying to discredit the article by linking it to Newt. D’Souza has hit the nail on the head.

Exactly. On Morning Joe this am it was obvious they had gotten their talking points directly from the White House. Now that CNN, ABC, and Politico are all repeating the same lines that NEWT is a nut and so are attributing the ‘anti’colonialist’ meme to him. The story has legs and has the White House nervous.

“…Obama subscribes to “Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior…”

Just as his father subscribed to: Kill Whitey first then decide what should be done with the rest.

Now, “Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior…” makes Obama a Mau Mau! Pure Racism based on color of one’s skin not character!!!!!!

First Newt Gingrich has had his chance twice and proved himself to be a lightweight, second is a coward having to beg Hilary and the Democratic Party for permission to be in the public light without being trashed.

I agree. The article makes the most sense of anything out there.

I’ve often asked myself, why does Obama think as he does. Why does he do the things he does to this country.

The article makes it clear, and predicts the future.

He has no intentions of compromising with the republicans. It’s his way or the highway.

The most dangerous man in the world right now.

But hey, George, why not ask the president to explain why the article is nonsense....

I’d love to see D’Souza interviewed. Has he been?

I read the D’Souza article last week. It was interesting but nothing earth shattering IMO. Looks like I was wrong if the WH is in a tizzy over the article.

If I remember correctly,, D’Souza gets most of the facts to back up his opinion from “Dreams from My Father”. So what is Obama going to do now? Throw his own book under the bus?

Obama: “That’s not the autobiography that I knew. I told Ayers not to put that crap about in Kenya in there”.

LOL! Throwing his own autobiography under the bus. Billy Ayers and Barry could never have imagined this when they concocted his autobiography all those many years ago.

"I don't even have -- quite frankly, George -- the slightest idea what he's talking about," Gibbs told George Stephanopoulos

Why read anything when you can offer an opinion, kind of like Congress and some recent $trillion legislation. Gibbs is a total idiot!
