In breaking news Terry Jones, pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center in Lakeland FL, has unaccountably become trapped inside an enormous helium balloon headed for New York City. There is mounting concern for the pastors safety, as the surrounding airspace has become dangerously congested with chase planes from the media, including one from MSNBC that actually appears to be firing on it.
The news of this mishap was initially reported earlier today by a close relative of Jones, whose initial garbled report became intelligible when another unidentified voice (heard on the tape) counseled holding the handkerchief a little further away from the mouthpiece.
Why Reverend Jones wouldve chosen this particular mode of transport for yet another meeting with the New York Mosque planners is unknown. One intriguing theory is he thought it would be less threatening if he presented his demands in a high-pitched voice reminiscent of the Lollipop League. Another is that he loaded up the gondola with a metric ton of Korans and was planning a Hindenburg moment if the talks went sour. These and other scenarios have captured the imagination of pundits, panelists and commentators everywhere, creating a spontaneous outpouring of solemn, credulous nodding not seen since the polar ice cap in its entirety melted away early last July. Across the airwaves regular programming exposing racist Islamophobes has been preempted by special programming exposing racist Islamophobes in balloons, with special emphasis on Sarah Palin.
Updates as they occur.

The case of the Koran that didn’t burn :-)
what was that story of rev jones being an old schoolmate of beck’s?????
neither of them want to admit to it, i understand...
Actually he was a classmate of Limbaugh.
no, i got the link somewhere—pity i cannot post my links here w/o upsetting the herd...
Jed Clampett/Hulk Hogan is older than Beck. Fifteen years or so, I’d say.
Rush was perfectly willing to admit to it. He spent a number of minutes talking about it. He didn’t remember the guy until someone sent him a picture and then he recalled the guy was a pitcher on the high school team.
But I’m sure Rush was complicit in the whole thing.
Ironically, you could say that Pastor Jones’s non-burning of the Koran was a non-story.
But the REACTION to it was a major story. He managed to trigger an avalanche of extremely interesting reactions, from Obama to Gates to Petraeus to the media on down to the rioters in Pakistan.
I think he deserves our thanks for that. Highly revealing.
I agree. The MSM dug up this obscure story to portray us as a bunch of Christian fanatical freaks. It backfired.
They were revealed as the freaks.
At least Jones has the courage to speak out against the murderous cult of islam, which is more than any of our so-called “leaders” will do.

He “had” the courage, and then he lost it. Which in the end, is just like never having the courage at all.
Life-Imitates-South Park yet again
His website was shut down. His bank cancelled their loan. He received many death threats. The FBI “visited him”. How much did you want him to take to make a point?
I didn’t say it would be easy or without sacrifice. Without that sacrifice, we would hardly remember St. Paul would we? If you are going to announce it and bring on the whirlwind, follow through, or stay out of it altogether.
When the next revolution comes, and it’s sooner than we think, we are all going to have to make choices like that. Live free, or die a slave.
Talk is cheap.
Exactly my point.
Pat Buchanan wanted President Obama to send in state troopers or soldiers to arrest Jones for hate crimes and deal with the Constitution later.
