Ground has been broken. A few surrounding buildings and a little placeholder replica of the Freedom Tower have been erected. Ceremonial beams of light have been displayed where the Twin Towers once loomed.
But as the Bergen (NJ) Record put it: We are supposed to be pleased that One World Trade Center is rising, that work on that national Sept. 11 memorial is well under way, as is the transportation hub and one of three additional commercial towers. And we are pleased that these projects are moving along. But it has been nine years. Nine years and nothing is completed.
Let me repeat that: Nine years and nothing is completed.

It's really shows how bad a situation this country is in when I have more respect for the actions of Russians regarding September 11 than I do for the present occupant of the White House.

That is pretty pathetic. As bureaucracies and legal entanglements grow ever more prevalent, we're just not very capable anymore as a nation of doing anything of substance.
Sad, really...
The unions and the corruption in New York may have a little to do with this outrage. Bloomberg should be fired!
I think that the P51 Mustang airplane went from idea to flying in Europe in 90 days. (I’m not comparing the production of a single airplane to the building of a skyscraper. I’m comparing programs).
90 days.
Idea through production to competitive use.
Maybe I’M WRONG on the facts here (or maybe not) but one thing is certain...the spirit is gone. Attitude is nearly everything, and our collective attitude, that “can do spirit”...I don’t see it.
Knowing what is wrong is easy. (Not all are capable of these easy things, which is why we have — still!— apologists for leftist policies). Collectively building a “can do” spirit is much more.
In the early 1900’s I think we had such a spirit. I don’t sense that sort of thing now. It’s more like “Let’s hold on to what we have”. “Let’s run away if it gets bad”. I think we had something like this when the Space Race was going on, when we were heading for the moon.
Just my two cents.
