Good Monday Morning!

Good Mornin’!
Morning! Gee, ask me about our WONDERFUL and INFORMATIVE Saturday field trip to the “DISCOVERY CENTER” in JOHNSTOWN!
ooooPs! I can’t pull in WPGB... switching to that MD station. Geeeez!
Who is this guy on 104.7?
I restarted the player and now I’ve got WPGB programming.
I tried that and ended up with an endless “transferring....”
I’ll bite...how was and what is The Discovery Center?
It’s a museum in Johnstown that highlights their industry - mining, steel-working, etc. Mr S and I went with some family friends.
It has an entire floor dedicated just to immigrants. When you first go in, they give you a card with a picture of an immigrant. You are that immigrant. The card has a bar code on the back. There are ‘stations’ that you have to stop at and insert your card. There is a video of a person at each station who takes your card and then you listen to them make fun of your foreign name and how you don’t fit in. Now, I realize that there was a LOT of discrimination against the immigrants. I get it that they want you to get a sense of what the immigrants experienced. What got me really really mad though, was the last stop on the immigrant floor. You go into a room and sit down, and they have a video of real children of immigrants talking about what it was like growing up with foreign-born parents. THEN, you hear what VERY MUCH sounds like the voices of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid talking about how important immigrants are and how the nation needs them. THEN you go to a touch-screen where you answer questions about whether YOU think that immigrants should be allowed into the country. Not LEGAL immigrants - just IMMIGRANTS. My friend was so disgusted, she just hit ‘NO’! I didn’t even bother.
Disgusting!
It’s actually a very informative place. The children’s area is very nice. My friend’s grandkids LOVED it.

Any questions on how illegals lower unskilled labor wages for all US citizens?
Oh, of course not!
One of the reasons WIfe doesn't like to go to places like that with me, LOL!
BTW we had an intersting encounter Sunday. Our granddaughter was baptized at the church where my son-in-law is hte music director/organist. We've been there before and it was a nice church.
This time the minister had changed - I knew that - but what I didn't know was it was a woman minister. OK no real biggie for me I just have to remember not to call her "Padre."
But instead of a sermon we had to sit through a half hour or more slideshow of the church's recent trip to an orphanage in Zimbabwe.
OK, Admittedly I'm not thrilled but I figured what the heck. But hten the padre had to lecture us on how we could learn a lot from people in third world countries. Things like how to carry jugs of water on your head! I'm NOT kidding!
Then she starts asking us to give 30 bucks a month to help these poor people who HAVE TO CARRY WATER ON THEIR HEADS!
I kept my mouth shut but my wife knew I was steaming! THe minister also mentioned Mugabe but minimalized that part.
When we got home I said you know what? I'm not going to send 30 bucks I'm going to take that money, go buy a wagon and a can, bolt them together and send the contraption to the kids. That way they won't have to carry the freaking water on their heads!
Obama is so disgusting!
Whoops have to run. I'll try to catch up at home.
Sounds more like a Propaganda Exhibit. Ugh!
