In Del., GOP comes out swinging vs. 'tea party'

WILMINGTON, DEL. - It's the "tea party" vs. the Republican Party in Tuesday's Senate primary in Delaware, where a popular moderate is suddenly under siege from a little-known conservative who in any other year might have been relegated to the footnotes of 2010's election records.

That's not an entirely unfamiliar narrative in a year in which tea party organizations have ousted two incumbent senators. But Christine O'Donnell's battle with Rep. Mike Castle perhaps embodies the movement's greatest test, because unlike in other races in which the GOP has offered the tea party an awkward embrace, the Republican Party is fighting back.

Well, they're not really Republicans now are they?

They are entrenched oligarchy. They are not representative.

A pretty, conservative woman versus a mummified RINO cadaver. Tough choice.

She really could be a star. Maybe the GOP knows that and doesn’t want that? Or does, and is helping in the long run by hurting in the short run.

The RINOs took advantage of what they perceived as sure thing votes. Nothing more, nothing less. They hitched a ride on the Tea Party and its coattails; never bothering to ask where they were going.

The tipoff for me that the DE GOP were really RINOs interested in “getting along” with RATs came from Pete DuPont, former Governor.

This was right after he had adressed the Wilmington, DE Tea Party. Imagine, a RINO promoting SWMNBN!

There will not only mass resignations in the RINO Party after Christine’s win, but also mass defections to the RATs. More dirty tricks coming.

We are witnesses to a true social conservative revolution.

Women are leading the conservative movement!

...meanwhile the MSM is still stuck on dinosaurs Michelle and Oprah.

I hope O’Donnell wins, but even if she doesn’t, we are definitely scaring the pants off the RINOs, and that is no small thing.

The dirty politics Castle is involved with aren’t working. PPP released a poll showing he’s down by 3 points now. Basically a 6 point flip from +3 to -3.

Got a fundraiser from Newt the other day. It got recycled. I will contribute to my selected candidates, not always the ones the GOP wants.

Amen. I went online and plunked down a contribution for O’Donnell a couple of days ago. The jackass Castle’s main objections to O’Donnell seem to boil down to she’s not a multimillionaire like me, and has had a little trouble paying off her college loans and got behind on her mortgage. The senate has become a millionaires’ and billionaires’ club. We need to throw out a lot of the current occupants (on both sides of the aisle) and replace them with real people.

The GOP, with the assistance of the so-called media, trot the same old line out every single time the TEA Party or 912 Project puts a candidate in their way... the GOP knows that in the long run they are in a losing position. but they are trying to ram as many of the old guard through as they can.

That is why all here must stand on principle! do not take the easy way out and pull the GOP line, if you want your country put back on the path that it belongs on, then you MUST go outside the corrupt party system for your candidates or we are all doomed to a failing nation.

You must support candidates that will hold to their Oath to protect and defend the Constitution, and in the end our way of life. We will never again see such an American revival or "awakening" in our lifetimes... use it wisely.

I was struck by the WAPO writer’s phrase in the first line there ... “a popular moderate.”

Popular with whom? Democrats? WAPO writers?
